Bandai's 1/12 Scale "#TheMandalorian" #BobaFett is coming this week in Japan and expected for September in the U.S.

Like the 2015 version, it's a plastic model kit and not a toy with a lot of assembly required; while it has snap-together (no glue) parts including variant hands, you'll find plain color pieces out-of-the-box and applying decals may need tweezers

#BobaFett made his return to Season 4 of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" on this day in 2012 in Episode 15 entitled "Deception."

Prior to this appearance, Fett had been in prison since Season 2, according to an interview with Dave Filoni.

Fett is voiced by Daniel Logan, who also played Young Boba Fett in "Attack of the Clones."

ICYMI: Disney added "In Memory of #JeremyBulloch" back around 12/31 or so to the credits of the Season 2 finale for #TheMandalorian.

The original actor to play #BobaFett passed away the day before the episode aired. We miss him dearly.

Back in 2012 at Star Wars Celebration VI, "#StarWars Detours" was announced as a new animated comedy series that "explores what daily life is like in a galaxy far, far away."

According to Seth Green in 2013 during an AMA on Reddit, "39 finished episodes and around 62 finished scripts" were complete before Disney decided to shelve the series indefinitely. This clip is from a 6-minute video uploaded earlier this month and just recently discovered.

#BobaFett is voiced by Breckin Meyer, who also does the bounty hunter's voice in Robot Chicken Star Wars, another Seth Green in common production.

Bonus: Before Jon showed his "Boba Feet" Stance socks, which was awesome, Jimmy said Boba Fett was a Mandalorian -- but in the current canon this is not correct, as he just wears Mandalorian armor. Jimmy also says "may he rest in peace," but also in the current canon he's neither dead nor alive.

Season 2 for the show was already confirmed by Fantha Tracks, who spoke with Lucasfilm's Doug Chiang who first let the news out on day one of Celebration Chicago (April 12th).

Due for release in June 2017, you can already pre-order this 3.9" figure at one of the manufacturer's preferred vendors like Nakama Toys (http://bit.ly/2gapIkB) or other shops like Big Bad Toy Store.

While part of an "Empire" series, this figure has some screen-inaccurate choices: gauntlet color, cape color, Stormtrooper blaster, boot color, flight suit color, Wookiee scalp colors, and no sidearm holster to name a few. The 2017 LEGO Desert Skiff Escape (right) set was looking mostly like a do-over of the 2012 Desert Skiff set, but the #BobaFett minifigure appears to have a bunch of "Return of the Jedi" updates: increased armor damage, grey flight suit, yellow gloves/hands, and re-designed ammo belt.

Other observations: it's got the same generation of printing as the 2015 UCS Fett, and we'll have to keep on dreaming for that "Jedi" jetpack to have the proper colors.

In honor of the late concept artist, who was born on this day in 1929, here is his art with #BobaFett in a poncho on Cloud City circa 1978. This pre-production effort eventually evolved and this -- sans poncho -- became the "he's no good to me dead" hallway scene in "The Empire Strikes Back."

#TriviaTuesday: "The Scavenger" by Legacy Effects, which sold at auction for $17,209.89, with all proceeds going to the Make-a-Wish foundation.

Made for the As You Wish Helmet Project of 2012, this studio imagined that "an indigenous lifeform of Tatooine finds #BobaFett's helmet at the Great Pit of Carkoon and repurposes it as his shell."

George Lucas himself saw this among other custom helmets at #StarWars Celebration VI, where he said aloud that this should be called "The Survivior" because at the time he believed Boba Fett didn't die in the Sarlacc.

This 6.5" re-paint of recent caped figure is expected to be available first-come-first-served and not lottery system like the first Elite Series Boba Fett. Each store is expected to have just 20 of these figures. Online, the last Elite Series Boba Fett sold out between 12am PST and 7am PST on opening day.
