Hand staining accents the amazing details and wonderful organic sculpture and makes each a unique work of art," notes the press release. Ten years before "War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1" was published, artist Robert Shane came up with this all-black variant look for #JangoFett

Robert's statement on his DeviantArt post from 2011: "The design of Jango (and Boba) Fett's armour is a classic - but I decided to draw Jango in 'stealth mode' here because I wanted to see how cool I could make him look in black armour. I haven't seen this concept done before - but I think it works work well and makes an eye-catching image. I thought this might be how he could have looked in the 'Attack of the Clones' movie when he assassinated Zam Wessel on Coruscant - perhaps using a variation of his armour for when he needed to creep around! This is an entirely original depiction of the character - first drawn in pencil, then scanned in and coloured in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet."

Before the cameras rolled on #BobaFett actor Jeremy Bulloch in "Return of the Jedi" (shown top center in a candid moment circa 1982), at least three other stand-ins were on set in his place: Quentin Pierre, Roy Beck, and Jack Dearlove

As noted on various call sheets for the original film, well documented when they go up for auction by Prop Store, these actors were stand-ins for several characters and even on screen, like Quentin was one of the Bespin guards escorting Solo in Carbonite for Fett in "Empire"

Happy birthday Joe Johnston!

"Johnston is #BobaFett's original conceptual designer. He has also been referred to as the 'father' of Boba Fett. Joe designed the colors and helmet for Boba. John Mollo had designed the original suit as the super trooper army of millions, but the production couldn't afford it for 'Empire Strikes Back.' Therefore, Joe made Boba a singular character with the paint job he did on him, including the damaged suit and helmet." – Joe Johnston's website (now offline, quote saved on bobafett.com)

We celebrate #JeremyBulloch's birthday today. The original actor behind #BobaFett would have turned 76 today.

When he passed away last year in December, several artists shared tributes. Featured here are pieces by Roby Amor, Jeff Carlisle, Michael Myers, Keith Byrne, and Hiwez Illustrations.

We'll feature more from fans including photos from those fortunate to have met him in a longer tribute video soon.

Originally known for innovative independent films like El Mariachi, Rodriguez now frequently turns out blockbusters hits like Sin City and Spy Kids; he's also an executive producer for the upcoming #TheBookOfBobaFett series starting next December

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of "The Empire Strikes Back," Hot Toys is re-releasing its 1/6 scale "Deluxe" #BobaFett, originally out in 2018.

With retro style packaging this time around (not yet shown in the marketing imagery released yesterday), this one is expected to arrive Q1 or Q2 2021. The fine print on these images also suggests there may be other minor differences to come.

The 2018 one retailed for $267 so this 2021 one may be similarly priced, if not higher.

Happy Birthday Jeremy Bulloch!

Check out our recent video interview with Bulloch, the original man behind the mask: https://youtu.be/y8tC1ZsqAKw

This art was done by Mark Austin, who not only portrayed Boba Fett in ANH:SE, but who we got to meet Jeremy for the first time last year at Celebration Anaheim.

Remember this commercial for "Star Wars: Bounty Hunter" from 2002?

The game featuring #JangoFett has been touched up since it was first released for PlayStation 2 and GameCube. As of January 15, it's playable on PlayStation 4. You can find it in the menu for the PlayStation Store and grab it for $10. More about the release on Sony's website: http://j.mp/1RSsMzy

We've re-engineered and color-graded the original to author this 1920x1080 file. The original was born online at 480x360, first shared on the now-defunct LucasArts website and also hosted since day one on BFFC.

Jason Wingreen was the original voice of #BobaFett. We just learned he passed away on December 25, 2015. This is our tribute to him.

Anyone who saw "The Empire Strikes Back" in theaters or on VHS/laserdisc between 1980 and 2003 would have heard his lines. After 2004, DVD and Blu-ray releases were re-dubbed to conform to the prequels and used Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.

Jason was born October 9, 1920. He was interviewed for Star Wars Insider #49 (May/June 2000) in which he shared this story of the role: "My agent called me and said to go over to the recording studio, where I met Gary Kurtz and Irvin Kershner. Normally, you see the face of an actor you're dubbing, so you have to lip-synch. But that was no problem here -- I could say the lines at any time. I got in position, they ran the film a few times, and I said the lines. Kershner came out and made a suggestion or two and went back in the control room, I did it again, and I was finished."

#TriviaTuesday: according to "legends" (read: expanded universe), #BobaFett didn't always work for the bad guys. Some of his allure was boosted by this extra depth to his character, which we sure hope finds its way into the new canon.

This panel comes from Dark Empire II, which Dark Horse Comics originally published in 1995. The artwork is by Cam Kennedy and the writing is by Tom Veitch.

#MandalorianMonday: Who was #BobaFett's most worthy rival? In "Twin Engines of Destruction," bounty hunter #JodoKast was certainly a contender.

For more about the 1997 classic, which Marvel is bringing back for re-prints, see http://bobafett.com/bounty/books/comics/twin-engines-of-destruction/. The one-shot was also included in Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The New Republic Volume 1 (2015), Star Wars Omnibus: Boba Fett (2010), and The Bounty Hunters Trade Paperback (2000), as well as of course its original debut in Topps Star Wars Galaxy Magazine.

We got up close with the #BobaFett costume on display right now at the #StarWarsCostumes exhibit in New York City.

This costume is one of several made, but considered by true fans as the "Pre-Production 3" aka "ESB" helmet (non-hero). We will continue to share all of our original photos -- from head to toe, full-body and up-close -- as part of our on-going costume guide at http://bobafett.com/manual/costume/

#ThisDayInHistory: #BobaFett made his animated debut in the #StarWars Holiday Special, which aired on this day in 1978 on CBS.

Normally seen on bootleg VHS copies, Lucasfilm included the cartoon segment of the television special as a bonus feature for the "Star Wars: The Complete Saga" Blu-ray release in 2011. Don Francks is uncredited but believed to be the voice of Boba Fett.

For more trivia and transcripts, see our Fettpedia entry at http://bobafett.com/fettpedia/Star_Wars_Holiday_Special

(Correction: We originally said the 2005 Blu-ray release, which is incorrect and doesn't exist. It's the 2011 Blu-ray release that has this bonus footage.)

#ThrowbackThursday: #BobaFett photo at Kenner vs. final cardback artwork.

The photo on the left is circa 1978, shot at Kenner with one of the pre-production Fett costumes. This "fireball" cardback first appeared with his action figure debut on a "#StarWars" cardback at the 1979 NYC Toy Fair. Only slight tweaks were made to the fireball effect before the same idea was used for some of the standard "Empire" and "Jedi" cardbacks.

#ThrowbackThursday: #BobaFett publicity photo for "Revenge of the Jedi," which of course was later re-named to "Return of the Jedi." For the big spenders out there, this 35mm slide from 1982 is actually a crowd-funding perk for a new film by James Kahn, who wrote the original 1983 novelization for "Jedi." #JangoFett and #BobaFett in #StarWars Tales #18 (2003)

Excerpt: * Boba: Father... Why?
* Jango: Save your questions.
* Boba (to himself): I understood by father's lesson: reflection is best kept for solitude, when the battle is won.

The fourth episode in the series originally aired on September 28, 1985. "A Race to the Finish" was written by Peter Sauder and Steven Wright. The young adult book series "#StarWars: Galaxy of Fear" included a couple stories with #BobaFett as well as appearing on these covers by Steven Chorney.

Fett appeared in the second and twelfth books (shown on the left) in the series, which was originally published in 1997 thru 1998. The German release (shown on the right) bundled the first and second book together.

#MandalorianMonday: Sabine, who stars in #StarWarsRebels, has a costume with several nods to #BobaFett.

According to notes shared by director Dave Filoni back in 2014 on StarWars.com, here are some specifics on the #Mandalorian: "The cheeks [in the helmet] lack the cutout like a Bo Katan helmet and are more traditional in shape like Boba Fett's. ... The pants are more of a cargo pants, they call back to original Boba Fett somewhat. They are a bit more snug than Boba's loose fitting pants, but note the baggyness at the knees, so they are not really skin tight." The second season of the show, which will include Darth Vader and others, resumes this Fall.
