Brian Matyas

This official "pitch" painting by Lucasfilm concept designer Brian Matyas helped seal the deal with Disney to green-light "#TheMandalorian."

Earlier this month, the artist shared that Dave Filoni needed a "sketch of a small Yoda creature being presented to a group of Mandalorians."

Due to the quick turn-around, Brian used Daz 3D for composition and then his Hot Toys 1/4 scale #BobaFett as a base to paint on top. Doug Chiang was also involved early in the process.

Star Wars Holiday Special

The #HotToys #BobaFett #Cosbaby (Animation Version) was revealed last night.

This non-articulated bobble-head is 5.1" (13cm) tall on a base.

While not "screen accurate," this stylized baby format is inspired by Fett's animated debut in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special.

Slave I

This Amazon exclusive "Empire" Slave I from 2013 originally retailed for $70 and dipped as low as $35 that holiday season. It's now common to find for 3x or more retail price in mint condition.

The ship was a re-paint of an earlier "The Clone Wars" Slave I from 2010 and the Han Solo in Carbonite was a re-paint of the "The Saga Collection" version from 2006. A #BobaFett figure was not included in the box. "The Vintage Collection" intentionally had packaging to resemble the original look from 1980 with some slight changes.

The latest and greatest #StarWars LEGO Slave I (75060) is coming later this year. This new one, expected to be in the ballpark of $200, includes a slightly different Fett minifigure and may have some interior compartments. LEGO previous released a different build of #BobaFett's ship in 2010 and 2006.
