Back in 2008, we would be talking about last night's episode of #TheSimpsons, where #BobaFett freezes 'em in carbonite.

This opening sequence aired September 28, 2008. We've looped it a few times so you can really enjoy it.

This helmet sketch was included in J. W. Rinzler's "Star Wars: The Blueprints" from 2013, which is a premium coffee table book for the most serious fans. You can still get it on Amazon: http://amzn.to/1WrcLTJ

Earlier this week we learned that Don Francks, the voice of #BobaFett in the #StarWars Holiday Special, passed away.

Here is our tribute to remember his incredible talent, providing the very first voice of the character we all know and love. He also did the voice of Fett in the "Droids" cartoon in 1985.

Don was born February 28, 1932. He was 84 years old.

#ThisMonthInHistory: Marvel Star Wars #42 was published September 23 yet had a December 1980 date on the top left.

But this first comic book appearance of #BobaFett mirrored the same content in Marvel Comics Super Special #16 (bottom left; dated May 1, 1980), Marvel Illustrated Books: The Empire Strikes Back (top right; dated May 1, 1980), and Marvel Special Edition 2: The Empire Strikes Back (bottom right; dated Spring 1980). To add to the mix, you could include the U.K.'s The Empire Strikes Back Weekly #129 released August 14, 1980.

Oddly enough, despite those copyright dates, those variants contained issues #39-44, which makes us wonder which one really came first after all.

For all Boba Fett comics, see http://bobafett.com/bounty/books/comics/

(Caption updated for further clarity. Vintage comic dates on the top left were often considered back then months to pull the issue off newsstands.)
