You can also become a member of Rancho Obi-Wan and you can take a tour of their incredible museum in Petaluma, California.

Not shown here, but the final display was a heartfelt memorial to Jeremy Bulloch, the late actor who originally played Boba Fett in "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi." They also had the stunt "Return of the Jedi" jetpack on display, used for the shots of him crashing into the barge (by stuntmen Glenn Randall Jr. and/or Dickey Beer).

The new Black Series "Return of the Jedi" #BobaFett went from newly revealed to quickly up for pre-order

You can still get the 6" deluxe figure with extras at Entertainment Earth (https://bobafett.club/j2lrw) and Walmart (https://bobafett.club/ce3jx) although it quickly sold out at Hasbro Pulse, Amazon, and Target

Costume aficionados like BFFC fan Josh Whitman and Fett4Real's 1313 Studios were quick to note this promotional rendering for this figure follows the "ROTJ: SE" variant rather than the true "ROTJ," although it's still a welcome addition to a very regular use of "ESB" variant in the series

Did you know they added #BobaFett's legs for this 1983 "Return of the Jedi" action figure cardback art?

Shown on the sides are the Kenner and the Palitoy tri-logo toys courtesy of Hake's Auctions, with the popular official publicity photo in the middle - a slightly different moment (or the blaster was moved upward?) undoubtedly taken at the same focal length and crop, likely by Ralph Nelson Jr.

Note the smudginess and the super long cape, which on the real costume ends around his knees.

#ThisDayInHistory: Ben Burtt, responsible for the sound effects of #BobaFett and his ship, was born on this day in 1948.

"To create the sound for the Slave I, Ben Burtt did what he always did whenever he had to create a sound for a spaceship: look at how the ship was designed, how it looked like, how fast it would move, and what it could do. For the takeoff sound of the Slave I, Burtt combined a trumpet's whine with the horn of his own 1971 Dodge Duster while it was on a desert road." -- StarWars.com

On #ThisDayInHistory, Duwayne Dunham wore the #BobaFett costume and introduced some lucky parade attendees in San Anselmo, California to the most infamous bounty hunter in the galaxy:

"What I remember about that day is it was incredibly hot. I'm not just talking about the suit, I'm saying that day in San Anselmo was really hot. ... Nobody knew about Boba Fett at that point. ... I would imagine that [for] most people seeing the two, they just figured it was a new character aligned with Vader. We were at the front end of the parade; we were leading the whole thing. We just walked side by side down the street. It was a little funny."

#FettFriday: Fett's Sarlacc-proof helmet!

This is a rare Polaroid photo of #BobaFett's stunt helmet, care of ILM's Ira Keeler, in an unpainted state.

The 501st Legion's Golden Gate Garrison captured and shared an interview yesterday with the legendary special effects artist in a video shared on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0chd8qqFAns

Ira describes how the entire Boba Fett costume was made of this kind of kitchen-style rubber for the scene where Fett falls into the Sarlacc Pit.

When Ira ponders the name of a colleague from the production, he's surely referring to Glenn Randall Jr., who also wore the Boba Fett costume for some of the stunts, along with Dickey Beer and Bob Yerkes.

As you may know, before Boba Fett had his distinct look for "Empire," his costume evolved from a white supertrooper concept-turned-prototype. Many #StarWars collectibles recently have done this variant look, including a recent Walgreens exclusive (also from Funko) with the all-white Boba Fett.

Chris also shot video of his unboxing -- see http://youtu.be/MTeAWmb7Alo -- which included some digital onlookers like our friends at Yakface.com.

#ThrowbackThursday: #BobaFett photo at Kenner vs. final cardback artwork.

The photo on the left is circa 1978, shot at Kenner with one of the pre-production Fett costumes. This "fireball" cardback first appeared with his action figure debut on a "#StarWars" cardback at the 1979 NYC Toy Fair. Only slight tweaks were made to the fireball effect before the same idea was used for some of the standard "Empire" and "Jedi" cardbacks.

#MandalorianMonday: Sabine, who stars in #StarWarsRebels, has a costume with several nods to #BobaFett.

According to notes shared by director Dave Filoni back in 2014 on StarWars.com, here are some specifics on the #Mandalorian: "The cheeks [in the helmet] lack the cutout like a Bo Katan helmet and are more traditional in shape like Boba Fett's. ... The pants are more of a cargo pants, they call back to original Boba Fett somewhat. They are a bit more snug than Boba's loose fitting pants, but note the baggyness at the knees, so they are not really skin tight." The second season of the show, which will include Darth Vader and others, resumes this Fall.

"The Twelve Parsec Stare" is the latest #BobaFett fan film -- one of at least 73 fan films that fans have made, complete with costumes, sets, or other production value. This new short film was self-produced by Ruined Films, a Finnish production company. They wanted to make a short film that blended sci-fi and Western genres and shot this in a week.

Here's the synopsis: "Boba Fett, the infamous intergalactic bounty hunter, has tracked his next prey into a dusty saloon in the outskirts of a remote space port. In the shadows of the busy space bar the hunter confronts his target's three sinister henchmen. Who will blink first?"

Develop it and make it a guy with all kinds of gadgets on his suit -- rockets and so forth -- to defend himself with.'" -- The Art of Ralph McQuarrie (April 2007)

#ThrowbackThursday: Now one of the longest running sci-fi magazines, Starburst featured #BobaFett on the cover of this 1980 issue, introducing him as Darth Vader's "ally." Within the 'zine contained a 10 page review on #StarWars "The Empire Strikes Back," including an interview with John Mollo about his costumes.

Mollo is credited with designing the white "Supertrooper" costumes, which were adapted by Joe Johnston into what we now know as Boba Fett.

#FettFriday: Joe Johnston's Sketches in the "Empire Strikes Back Sketchbook" (1980)

Excerpt: "While most of the film's costume design originated in England, Ralph McQuarrie and [Joe] Johnston designed the Boba Fett outfit at Industrial Light and Magic in California. The costume was built at EMI in London, and then shipped back to Johnston to be painted. Originally the Boba Fett costume was intended to be worn by a squad of supercommandos, troops from the Mandalore system armed with weapons built into their suits. But the costume was adapted for the Boba Fett character by aging, denting, and adding a colorful paint job to one of these suits, while keeping the wrist lasers, flying backpack, and rocket darts originally intended for the supercommandos." #

#TriviaTuesday: #BobaFett's pre-production costume gloves had circles. By the time of his theatrical debut in "Empire," those patches -- which derive from authentic U.S. Army -- were removed in favor of a simpler design.

#FettFriday: Concept art for #BobaFett's ship, Slave I, sketched in 1979 by Nilo Rodis-Jamero, who was instrumental in its design.

Nilo was the assistant art director and visual effects creator on "The Empire Strikes Back" and costume designer on "Return of the Jedi." This sketch was most recently re-published in "The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" (2010).

"Joe Johnston showed me some of the ideas he had for Boba Fett, and I remember asking myself what his spaceship would look like. I remember seeing a radar dish and stopping to sketch it very quickly to see if I could get something out of it. The original design I had was round, but when you looked at it from the side, it became elliptical. For some reason, when I drew it, George thought it was elliptical, so that's what it became. When we were building the ship at ILM, somebody looked at street lamps and pointed out that they look like Boba's ship. So everyone began to think that was where I got the idea for the design."
