#MandalorianMonday: Who was #BobaFett's most worthy rival? In "Twin Engines of Destruction," bounty hunter #JodoKast was certainly a contender.

For more about the 1997 classic, which Marvel is bringing back for re-prints, see http://bobafett.com/bounty/books/comics/twin-engines-of-destruction/. The one-shot was also included in Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The New Republic Volume 1 (2015), Star Wars Omnibus: Boba Fett (2010), and The Bounty Hunters Trade Paperback (2000), as well as of course its original debut in Topps Star Wars Galaxy Magazine.

#TriviaTuesday: Remember the surprise of seeing #JodoKast unmasked by #BobaFett?

This panel comes from the game-changing comic "Twin Engines of Destruction," which originally was published in four issues of a now-defunct #StarWars Galaxy Magazine from Topps. As you may know, Jodo Kast was a competing bounty hunter who pretended to be Boba Fett -- to whomever was paying the bounty. The comic was written by Andy Mangels, who also coined the name Jaster Mereel, which was since change up after the prequels, and even since has been coined a "legend." #

Before unmasking #BobaFett was a thing, illustrator Daniel Brereton asked Topps and Lucasfilm if he could try something for this #StarWars Galaxy 2 (card #213) back in 1993. They approved. "[D]espite the fact that Topps, Lucasfilm and myself didn't really care that it wasn't the 'true' reveal of Fett, rather than the idea of a young fan's vision of what was under the mask," notes Brereton in a statement.

#ThrowbackThursday: Sarlacc Food No More. In case you missed it, yesterday J.W. Rinzler (Lucasfilm's historian) confirmed that George Lucas does indeed believe #BobaFett survived the Sarlacc.

While we've had no less than five Sarlacc "survivor" storylines, after Disney bought Lucasfilm, all of these Expanded Universe ideas were officially tossed aside. Yesterday's public declaration on Rinzler's Reddit AMA is only the second time Lucas has said Fett lives, after many times saying Fett dies. And this time it wasn't just a hot mic picking up Lucas like at the 2012 Star Wars Celebration VI convention.

See http://www.bobafettfanclub.com/news/fettpedia/j-w-rinzler-confirms-george-lucas-boba-fett-survived-the-sarlacc/ for more.

#JodoKast and #BobaFett faced off in "Twin Engines of Destruction," a 4-part comic in 1996 in the short-lived Topps #StarWars Galaxy Magazine. The story was written by Andy Mangels, who also wrote the initial Jaster Mereel / Concord Dawn backstory, since thrown out the window by the prequel storylines.
