Here is our guide to Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023, just for Boba Fett fans. Consider this your very own checklist to all the Boba Fett sightings as we learn about it. Updated up to and through the convention.

Friday, April 7

  • 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Lucasfilm’s Studio Showcase @ Celebration Stage (and streamed to Twin Suns and Galaxy Stages)
    “This panel is a pre-ticket event [and] there will be limited standby available. Star Wars Celebration returns, launching with a must-see showcase that will kick the weekend’s festivities into hyperdrive. Lucasfilm’s current crop of live-action filmmakers will be joined by special guests to discuss the many current and upcoming Star Wars adventures, including The Mandalorian, Andor, and more!”
  • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Boba Fett’s Costume History @ University Stage
    “Discover the history behind the most infamous Bounty Hunter. See all of his costume evolution throughout the years and how he ultimately spawned an entire Mandalorian culture.”

  • 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: The History of Kenner’s Rocket Firing Boba Fett (Collectors Stage) “An in-depth look at the creation of the character by Lucasfilm through the prototyping and development of the toy by Kenner. Learn how Kenner unveiled their mysterious new action figure with a spring-loaded rocket launcher and the subsequent events that eventually forced its removal. Now an iconic toy-that-never-was, this fascinating tale spans nearly five decades and is rife with falsehoods and hearsay. Come hear the real story.”

    “Join host Clayton Sandell alongside Doug Chiang and Industrial Light & Magic Supervising Art Director Jason Horley as they take you behind the scenes to explore what goes into bringing a director’s vision to the silver screen. From the ILM Department’s work on the original trilogy to the Star Wars prequels, and to the latest films in the franchise and beyond, you’ll learn how iconic movie moments are made.”

  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: 40 Years of Return of the Jedi @ Celebration Stage
    “Forty years ago, Return of the Jedi was the highly-anticipated sequel that Star Wars fans had been waiting years to see, and the last Star Wars theatrical adventure to be released for the foreseeable future. Counted as a favorite episode by many, Return of the Jedi’s story, characters, settings and score still resonate with fans today, and its 40th anniversary offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate this time-honored classic. Join special guest host Ming-Na Wen as she chats with Star Wars legends of the past, present and future about the influence of this beloved chapter in the galaxy far, far away.”

  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Star Wars Creator Cosplay Workshop @ Twin Suns Stage
    “Join The Mandalorian’s Shawna Trpcic (Costume Designer), Maria Sandoval (Hair Department Head) and Josh Roth (Prop Master) as they lend their expertise to give you tips and tricks on your own cosplay. The talented team will also be guest judges for Celebration’s official cosplay competition, so come by and get a tune-up before the big contest. This is the way!”

  • 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: The Challenges of Film Design: Working in the Star Wars Art Department @ University Stage
    Doug Chiang will hold an in depth conversation about the Star Wars art department and working in the film industry. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions about being a film designer today, what filmmakers look for, and how to overcome the challenges of a changing industry.”

  • 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Star Wars in the 1990s @ University Stage
    “Remember the Special Editions, Shadows of the Empire, Dark Forces, Heir to the Empire and muscular action figures? This presentation celebrates everything about the galaxy far, far away in the decade when it enjoyed an incredible resurgence – the 1990s. This nostalgia soaked look back at the decade leading up the prequels will unashamedly walk down memory lane, wearing dungarees while listening to Britpop on a Walkman. With trivia questions and spot prizes, interactive live polls and audience memories, this is an opportunity for everyone to get involved with remembering the decade that brought Star Wars back and culminated with the release of The Phantom Menace.”

  • Alice X. Zhang (Booth S651) is the illustrator who did the official Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 badge art. She has a postcard set, which replaces the Celebration logo badge with Boba Fett. A similar set might also be in the Celebration shop at the convention.
