Topic: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

Hello, this is my 4th or 5th attemt at an RPG. Hope this one turns out better that the rest! All of you know the rules, but I'm going to emphises the ones I want you to pay attention too the most: No Godmoding, Very very short posts are not welcomed here, but will be allowed if there is no other option. Be as creative and original as can please.
Have fun!

In this RPG you'll play as an Assassins or a Bodyguard. Each side is a devoted Order of a sheer opposite art, one devoted to Assassination, the other devoted to the preservation of those targeted by such. The time will be in the middle ages, of Earth. The only differance will be the presence of magic. There are different classes, and ranks for differently skilled and more advanced than other Assassins/ Bodygaurds. Here are the classes for the assassins:

DarkArts Assassin: These Assassins specialize in utilizing magic to there advantage on missions. They frequently carry small magical items to help with there on missions. They also have a good grasp of spells type attacks, depending on rank. Medium level of skill in stealth and blade.

Shadow Assassin: These Assassins use stealth as there main weapon. More often then not, there targets are quite dead before the guards even know theres been an intrusion. High skill in stealth, low in blade, medium level of skill in magic.

ColdSteel Assassin: These Assassins use specialized steel weapons, (swords, maces, knives, ect.) for taking out gaurds and there targets. They use them with frightening efficiency. Limited or no skill with spells. Medium skill levle in stealth tactics. High ability level with steel weapons.

Order Assassin: An evenly balanced out Assassin, medium grasp of spells, stealth, and the blade. Most common type of assassin

Now the ranks:

Bloodbringer (Master Assassin): These Assassins are the most skilled in all there ablilites. (I would like to limit the the number of these to no more than three)

Deathnote (Average Assassin): These Assassins have a medium level of skill in all there abilites.

DeathHoper (Novice): These Assassins have a lower than average skill in there abilites.

Apprentices (Apprentice): These Assassin could hardly be called such, and are not to be trusted with solo missions. They have a very low skill level in all there abilites.

If your an Assassin, you are the aggressor, and will be on the attack. You must kill in anyway, the man or woman you have been assigned. But be wary, being discovered by more than eight Bodyguards/Guards will almost always spell certain death for you. If you are captured they will torture you intill you betray the Assassin's Order. Subtality, timing, creativity, stealth and quick thinking are your best weapons. Use them. Also, you will almost always be working alone. However you can use additional
assassin, at the cost of losing some of you reward.

Now here are the classes for the Bodyguards:

Steel Pretectors: These BodyGuards use heavy armor, and weapons to pretect the client. They are skilled with blades and armor of all types, and weild them with out mercy. High skill with blades, low skill with magic, able to lead 20 guards.

Magic Shields These Bodyguards are knowledgeable in spells of most types, but specialize in pretection type spells. They often carry small magical items on there missions. High skill in magic, low skill in blade, able to lead 15 guards.

Hope Bringer These Bodyguards rely largly on the skills of the men under them. They lead these men with amazing charisma. Low skill in blade and magic, but high in leadership: able to lead 40 guards.

Defender: These bodyguards have the most evenly balanced out skills. Most common bodyguard. Medium skill level in blade, leadership and magic. Able to lead 10 guards.

Now ranks:

The Impenetrable: (Master) These bodyguards are masters of all there skills.

The Defending: (Average Bodyguard) These bodyguards have a medium level of skill in there abilites.

The Defense Tryers: (Novice) These Bodyguards have a lower than average understanding of there skills.

Apprentices: (Apprentice) These bodyguards can hardly be called such, and are never trusted to work alone. They have a poor understanding of there skills.

If your a Bodyguard, your job is to protect the man or woman you have been assigned at all costs...even if it causes you your own life. You will be working together (enless you chose not to, though it is advised) with at least ten regular guards as support. Be careful, the assassins will be tricky, and stealthy. You must be on your watch. Overpreparation, careful planning, numbers and good leadership are your weapons. Use them. You will almost never work alone. However you will be paid more.

I will be Rping as the Grand Masters of both Orders, giving missions out to players on both sides. I will also be Rp as agents for the Grandmasters. Please post your characters, as soon as you do I will give out assignments.

((yes you get to choose you rank))

SOMEWHERE ON THE COAST OF FRANCE.....

Korach stood in the main chamber of the Order of the Assassins, addressed by the Grand Master: "Your targets name is Horosheem Katlok. He is a Noble man, and a madman who taxes the people of his city heavily. Apparently for no reason." The Grand master paused to let his words sink in. "The people of this city have put there money together, to higher us, and I in turn have selected you Korach, to furfill this contract. Your reward will be 100 gold pieces, in exchange for the life of Horosheem Katlok. You will find Horosheem in the city of Magesti'calo, usually in his palace on the district called: Gorat. However anything more specific on his whereabouts is unknown. But be wary, Horosheem is wealthy and has put together a large amount of guards together." The Grand Master then said: "Go now, and remove this man from exsistance!"

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

"Yes lord"

That meeting had taken place days before, and now Korach stood on the higher area of a cathedral. His dark 'robes' concealed him, though he could have worn robes made of solid gold and still be difficult to see due to the storm that raged above. He looked at twoards Gorat, and began to make his way down from the cathedral The streets were nearly empty, as he neard the boundires of the district he saw soldiers in the distance. He drew his shortsword, slipping behind a crate as they passed. He stepped out, and stabbed one of them quickly, the blade sliping inbetween his ribs. A short cry escaped the soldier's lips, and his partner spun. Korach quickly slashed his throat, keeping him from yelling. He turned, then began to move into Gorat.

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

Korach used the rooftops, the guards were getting more numerous, that meant either he was walking into a trap, or he was getting close. He chose to be optimistic and belive he was getting closer. He had a trick up his sleeve as well. It was three inches long, cold, and made of steel. He stopped on a roof, looking through a window into a candle lit room. There was a man in the room. It was his target. He stepped back, already calculating how fast he would need to run to make it into the room. He started to run forward, but stopped suddenly, the door had opend a servant stepped in. A woman. Katlok took her into his arms, and kissed her. "His wife wont like that." Korach mutterd to himself. He couldent kill him now, for risk of killing the servant who was now half naked. He sighed, and began to move, he needed to find a place to sleep, he would come back later.

((yes, that would be perfect))

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

(Alrighty then.)

Itsumo chuckled to himself, leaned against the door leading to the Master's bed chambers. Or so any would be assassin would believe if he merely looked through the window. Enchanted with a spatial redirection magic, meaning, the window looked on to a different room. And the other window would display the contents of the room behind him. Guards waiting reslessly.
The most guarded part of the house was usually devoid of its master. Although he wasn't enough of a fool to believe such a basic stragedy would really trick an advanced assassin. Because, although the most guarded was empty, the most spellbound was not.
He didn't speak too much French, relying on the little English he and the Master both spoke to communicate. His native language would do no good in this land.
The umbrella he carried sat beside him, he picked it up as he began to leave. Casually walking down the hall toward the Kitchen, so far he'd managed to kill only a couple of food tasters, an insider was trying the old poison bit but had given up for now. But he carefully watched the drink, poison can be laced on only a portion of the bottle's mouth. So his fear was more from a lady assassin seeking to cleverly kill, while a lot of the safety relied on the Master being cautious but his new lady friend made it clear Itsumo would have to do the thinking for both of them.
Not that he was bothered of course, the first big job never does seem to go well for anybody.

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

Korach sat in the small room he had rented, juggling his throwing knives. It helped him think, and made sure his reflexes were quick. In his carrer, that was very important. He would throw them at different speeds, keeping to no actual pattern. It would be easier to kill his taret when he was outside. He didnt want to chance something like breaking through  a window anyway, they could be a trap. He wasnt the most adept when it came to magic, but he knew a fair bit about it, mainly how much bodyguards liked to use it. The window could have easily just been looking into anthor room, the room behind it empty or filled with guards, Korach had ran into that before. He moved quickly and watched as the knives embeded themselves into the floor. He was tired. He climbed into the small bed, and went to sleep

SOMEWHERE ON THE SOUTHEREN COAST OF ENGLAND....

In the large stone addressing chamber stood Aegob, sliently listening to the one of the Grand Masters agents. These agents were to be respected-and feared- by all. So Aegob stood as straight and sliently as possible, not wanting to bring unneeded wrath on his head. The Agent continued the discription of the mission: "Your goal is to weaken the area of England called Dumhallow. In order to do so you will target two noble men of several castles in the sout west part of England, that is Dumhallow. The Agent then took a bag from a chest from behind him, and begain to untie it, while he continued to talk. An informer inflitrated are ranks, and discovered are plot. Fortunately we caught the informer, before he was able to release all of his knowledge." The Agent then pulled out the head of the informer from the bag so Aegob could see. Aegob flinched from the smell of the thing. The Agent continued: "The Noble men now know we are going to strike, however you will manage....or you will die trying." The Agent smiled cruelly, and then pointed to the door. "Now go Bloodbringer, live up to your name, and bring forth blood!!"

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

Violet sat in her cramped quarters. The faint light of a candle burnt slowly illuminating the room with a very faint light. She lifted her petticoats to find the various bottles of poisons hidden in small pockets within separate layers. She was somewhat annoyed that an amateur poisoner was on the loose, it made it harder for Violet to perfect her art. Not that she bother poisoning food. She was much craftier than that.

Violet tended to lace her poisons on much less obvious things. One of her favourites was to dip each tip of a hair brush in her poisons, just a scrap to the scalp would result in a bizarre death. She tainted the end of men's pipes and whatever else they might put in their mouth by habit.

Subtly was Violet's way and even now she sat in wait. Her target was already dead but if she were to vanish immediately it would show her as the killer. She would leave in the morning when the dawn was just broken. Then she would find out what her next mission was.

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

Korach had made his way back. He stood looking at the window, a rock in his hand. Well, if it isnt his room, then at least I'll know. Korach tossed the rock into the air a few times, testing it's weight. He grabbed it out of the air, and threw it. It broke therough the window and the illusion, like the glass, was shattered. The guards inside looked suprised. He sprinted off to the right, passing more and more of the building.

He stopped when he thought it was safe. There was a window, he had noticed it before, and thought nothing of it. But now, it was just too tempting not to investigate. He jumped, grabbing onto the windosil, and pulling him self upwards. The window was luckily, unlatched.  He opend it and pulled himself in. There was a man sleeping in the bed. Katlok was dead. No visible wound, and when Korach checked the body more thouroughly, he found that he had been poisoned. Korach grinned, he hand an idea who. Another assassin, specializing in poisining. She was, in Korach's oppinion destined for greatness. Poision was an exelent weapon. It was unfortunate that she had beaten him, but that wasnt a problem. He was a master assasin, he didnt need the money. She had probably been here for months, it wouldn't be right for Korach to have taken the kill. He slipped out the window, closing it behind him, and made his way to the stables. He had his horse there, he would be going back to (Is there like a guild head quarters?)

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

As the pale rays of morning light shone through her window, Violet picked up her bag which held very few of her belongings and left Horosheem Katlok's home. Soon his wife would wake to find her husband dead and it was best if Violet was gone.

Violet nodded to a few guards who were awake at the hour, she stated that she was going to see her sister and had no idea when she'd return. No one would miss her. She had promoted herself as a meek servant who was shy and would never have the gall to kill her master. She smiled inwardly, if they ever found out it'd be a miracle.

Lifting the hood of her cloak, Violet walked the cobbled streets and found herself a cab. She paid the driver to take her out of town. From there she'd buy passage via several other cabs to avoid being followed. It was time to see the Grand Master for payment and her next assignment.

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

heading over to the closest port to avoid detection in case he had left any witnesses alive they would surely tell the gaurds, seeing a ferry prepping to leave, he reached his hand down ito his pockets scrambling to find money.
he pulled out his hands and saw some loose change and a couple bills jumping aboard and dropping the money into the ferryman's hand. Just barely escaping the gaurds too he'd have to practice more that was the last time he got sloppy killing he told himself.

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

It made it into the castle. The guard move to unload it. I see a door and while there distracted run into it.Sneaking past the guards i fget into the second level and find a window. I climb out it and close it. I climb to the highest level and find a room with many luxeries.I smile.
This is his room, i think.
I climb into the room and hide. Now all i have to do is wait.

A man on a horse galloped up to the gate of a castle city in the area of Dumhallow, he delivered a letter to an Order Assassina informer. The informer rushed off to give it to the man he was working with....

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

I decide to poison him. I see a pipe. I move over and put some poison on his pipe.I can easily tell that this guy is rich. He has a big bed, theres a empty gold goblet, and many things people would not have unless they were very rich.
Just a matter of time, I think.
I remember how i had got in. After getting into the castle i had avoided the guards as best i could, although i had almost got caught 3 times. I had found a window, and climbed out it.  I had had to dodge more guards, and watchmans eyes before finally finding a room with many luxeries which could only have been my targets. That's how I got here.
Now just to wait...

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

(Location was confirmed in the Chatroom)

Bamberg, Germany

Korach rode trough the forest, nearing the city, and, by extension the Assasin's guild. It had offices in some buildings in the city, but the entrance to the headquarters was in the woodlands nearby. He took his horse to the stables, patting the animal on the side of its face softly. He turned and left, walking into the woods. The main entrance was in the city, in the cellar of a brewry, but Korach prefered ti use the hidden etrance, in the bottom of  a rotten out oak tree. He unlocked the trapdoor and opened it, its camoflaged surface blending in perfectly. He removed his mask and hood. He stepped into the council chamber, the best place to find one of the Greater Masters. The ancient man was standing alone it seems, but Korach knew there were trained archers hidden highed in the room. He kneeled on the small stone platform before the larger one that the Assasin Lord occupied. "Lord. I have failed."

The elder assasin looked supirsed at this "What do you mean Korach?"

"Another assasin beat me there."

"And who was this?"

"Violet Heath, Lord."

"Ah, The Deadly Flower. It is of no matter, the target is dead, and she had been there for much longer then you have. I assume he died of poison?"

"Yes Lord."

The ancient assasin smiled "Exelent, she is very skilled at her art. Now, about your next assignment,"

"Lord, I would like to request a momentary leave."

The master paused. "Very well Korach. Come back when you wish. That is all."

Korach rose, and bowed, turning to leave. He stopped by the dining hall, finding an apple. He examined it, and deciding it looked good, took a bite from it. He began to head to his room, he wouldent mind some sleep.

Re: RPG: Assassins & Bodyguards

Itsumo had stayed to see the funeral, which was an excuse to talk with the lady of the house. It was time to pay up. She waffled about, commenting on how he hadn't done his job and all that. But the contract was clear, payment for any magical devices and a flat rate fee for number of days served regardless of client's survival. She continued edging the issue until the day of the funeral. Itsumo left a slightly richer man, he took the last coach out that day headed back.
