#BobaFett's backstory began in this 1995 guidebook, "#StarWars: The Essential Guide to Characters." Few official stories had elaborated on Fett's past, but author Andy Mangels did a great job at the time, writing about his then alter ego as Jaster Mereel, a journeyman protector from Concord Dawn. Only after the prequels did all of this get re-written, re-defined, and then thrown out for the time being.
