I'm with you on that one.  Jango was the greatest hunter of his time, and likewise, Boba was the greatest of his time.  Like father, like son.  If Jango wasn't all that great, then why would Boba care to live up to his name?

Yup

I totally agree, some people may argue his death was stupid, yeah but Boba's 'death' wasn't any better. Jango got decapitated by a Jedi Master. Boba got smacked in the back by a semi-blind dude and fell screaming into a pit.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Yes, I don't think Jango is worthy to be a Fett.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Why not though? He was the best Bounty hunter of his time. Why doesn't he deserve to be a Fett?

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

After reading "Open Seasons" I would have to agree Jango is worthy to be a Fett. Further, he was INDEED the best bounty hunter of his time.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

He did a crappy job as Mandolor
He had no honer
He get people to do his job
He made his clan ashamed that they had one of their clan as mandolor

Boba Fett abandoned his family, did Jango?

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

What family did jango have to abandon?

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Boba. Who was basically his son. He could have chose to leave him there, give him to someone else.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

He  abandoned him by stupidly taking on a jedi master instead of just watching them. He abandoned his son with nothing but a book. that gave him no info

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

He made a tactical mistake, and died for it. But he didn't willingly leave them. If he could he would have came back.

Boba didn't. He never went back

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

He wanted to show off his combat skills to Gunray.......

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

I doubt that a Mandalorian warrior would want to show his skills to a Nemodian accountant. Where did you hear or read that? Also, I don't recall Gunray being at the battle.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Watch the movie again.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Read Bloodlines. Boba admits that Jango was a better father then him.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Okay, but did Boba Go and get him self killed, no he didn't.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Which is why Jango deserves to be a Fett. He died in combat, with a superior opponent. A good death.

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Agreed. Jango had a contract, and he was fullfilling it. NOT doing so would have been dishonorable, and Boba would have thought less of him. Perhaps he didn't do the best Job as Mandalore. He probably thought the Mandos were finished, or something. They'd taken heavy losses at the hands of the Jedi. Just as Boba was fullfilling HIS contract with Jabba when he "died", so was Jango.

Jango was an amazing hunter, and was a far better father than Boba ever was.

He made his clan ashamed that they had one of their clan as mandolor

Where'd you get that? I've NEVER heard that. As a matter of fact, one of the Mandos that served under Jango respected him even after Jango didn't return. Played Bounty Hunter? yeah, from that.

I agree, in the Mando culture, i believe, a death in battle is the most honorable death there is. i believe jango was worthy to be a Fett and was a good father to Boba...i have wondered if he ever thought he could have been a better father in certain places

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Good lord! mad

Re: Jango: Worthy to be a Fett?

Hes mostly joking--its important to understand that with AA.

But seriously--MandoGirls right. Dying in battle is honored in Mandalorian society. They're a very warlike people, and many would rather die fighting than of old age.
