Terra, are you going to stick with Sims 2 or upgrade to 3? I pretty much stopped playing 2 pretty much the same time 3 came out. I never really played 2 anyway, I just built houses. I'm actually playing 3. And it's a lot of fun!

Hey there Miba, how are you? I'd love to see your Sims 2 houses, if you did just that, I bet you became great at it. smile

I tried Sims 3 once. I think I even posted about it on this very topic forever ago as "Cin Vhetin", which is my other name here.

I hate the graphics in Sims 3, I can't get used to look at my sims faces and only see pillows everywhere. Their tools for making faces seem to be just circles and spheres, I hate the lack of angles! Maybe I didn't play with the options enough, I don't know, lol. Call me "resistant to change" if you will, lol, I am. In this case, totally.

The only positive points I found for sim-making is the option of making wider faces and various body sizes. It's really the single good point that I found Sims 3 has over Sims 2. With Sims 2, wide faces are a hell to make, lol. I tried to make Jack Nicholson, then 2 american actors starring in CSI-NY, all with wide heads and faces, and they are all near-impossible to make without some really deforming serious edits.

I don't play very much anyway, I rather create stuff. It's easier for Sims 2 than for Sims 3, even if only because I already know how to make content for Sims 2. I hate the in-game editable textures in Sims 3. Most of their textures are too uniform and all the same. It is not graphically as flexible and interesting as it is in Sims 2 if you make your own textures.

I am really having a lot of fun creating Sims 2 stuff right now. I have bubbling inspiration! I seem to "eureka" faster than I can create, lol. As long as this will be, I think I will just follow my gut feeling and keep the groove going. smile

I am glad that you passed by, though. I had missed talking to you! smile

Cast iron and treadmills? Oh yes. Still sculpting me to what I really want to be, and I love it. :)

Re: Favorite video game?

I got Sims 3 for Christmas and I love it. Granted I never did get Sims 2, so for me it's a huge upgrade. Yeah the faces are kind of weird, but I've gotten used to it. I hope to get the High End Loft and Abitions expansions sometime before this year ends.

I wish people would make more custom content for Sims 3 though. There's not a whole lot in existance right now, and since I love special, awesome, customization.... =/

Try Sims 2, lol, you'll get millions of awesome contents!

I bet you already know MTS2?

Re: Favorite video game?

My favorite video game right now is Fallout 3. Not too excited about New Vegas though. My overall favorite video game is probably Mass Effect.

Re: Favorite video game?

Yes, I know all about MTS2. I've tried MTS3, lol. Unfortunately, all I came up with was Aperture Science posters for my Sim house. =/ I'm sure more people will come up with more stuff though as time goes on. My best friend has our Sims (and the Sims of our characters) living together in a dorm filled with all sorts of awesome posters and prints he found on MTS2. I'd really like to have our house (occupied by my version of our Sims and the Sims of our characters) filled with that same sort of awesome stuff someday, too.

Also, Portal. I love that game! I had to reformat my computer last month, and ever since it's been throwing a tantrum every time I try to play it. Even so, it's easily among my favorite games. I love all of GLaDOS' lines! And I love the song "Still Alive". I even made my mom listen to it the other day, and she's liked the song too!

LOL at computer throwing tantrums
hey try MTS3 again, it has more content for Sims 3 now. Whenever I go and look for stuff for Sims 2 I have to browse through a whole ocean of Sims 3 stuff, lol. I'm really not about the play that game. Until I am forced to! lol. When MTS2 stops accepting Sims 2 content, I suppose as a creator I will have to switch games, but even then tongue

Re: Favorite video game?

A virus hid itself in my Sims 2 files so we had to uninstall the game and get rid of it all in order to get rid of the virus and I hadn't played it in the months after 3 was out so I just never reinstalled it. So I don't have any of my houses, lol.

I never really got into modding or anything, I have taught myself a little bit for 3, like I made a pattern. It's black with a red mythosaur skull. So far I've only used it as a rug in front of a fireplace in a mansion I named Mando Getaway or something, it's supposed to be where some Mandalorian would go to rest up and feel luxurious. It's not finished yet, though.

And I just started playing Fallout 3 a few weeks ago, it's awesome!

But that also reminds me, am I the only one who gets disoriented and then motion-sick from playing first person games? I keep having to stop Fallout 3 to take a break due to motion-sickness. Same with Portal, oh, Portal makes me very motion-sick. And other various games too, I've just about conquered my Battlefront 2 motion-sickness, that was the first game I really played first person in for long periods of time. I also really do not like not seeing my feet! I don't know where I am, I just feel like a floating camera that sometimes have hands or arms or guns or something. I figure the motion-sickness is just something that will pass if I keep at it long enough. But that still doesn't help with my not having feet! And, yes, I know you can play Fallout 3 in 3rd person but my husband says this reduces your accuracy when shooting.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Re: Favorite video game?

Always felt like the perspectives aren't quite right in first-person games. Like the character's vision is never completely like a human vision, and after a while, indeed it gets noticeable. People don't believe me when I tell them that, but see, you noticed it too.

Sucks for that virus. Wish I could have seen your houses. Oh well, if you ever take pics of the new ones once they are finished, I bet it will look great as well. Would love to see that.

Metal Gear Solid. <3

Re: Favorite video game?

I'm still stuck on New Horizons as my last favourite, although Guitar Hero and Rock Band can be really fun.

Re: Favorite video game?

I really enjoyed Star Wars Bounty Hunter, even though it was Jango Fett... it was a great game despite the absence of Boba. There was a cheat code for Star Wars Jedi Starfighter to pilot the Slave 1... good times. I'm mostly a Metal Gear fan, which should come to no surprise.

Re: Favorite video game?

I finally unlocked Slave I in Lego Star Wars 2. xD So awesome. I'm kinda too terrible at video games to have a favorite, really. But I look forward to playing Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Even though I will probably die constantly like I do on Battlefront. e.e;

Pretty much just Lego games. ^_^;

I built the Death Star with real Legos, if that's what you're asking. ^_^ That kit takes some time, I tell ya...

Re: Favorite video game?

Lol Sims. I played that forever ago. Then I just got tired of it. All I ever seemed to do was eventually get tired of them and invent ways to make them go away. <<; All of my houses were haunted. ^_^;

They have a ton of Lego games for the Playstation and PS2. Lego Indiana Jones. Lego Star Wars. And I don't have any pictures of it. My friend has it now. Maybe I'll see if she'll take some of it for ya.
