Re: Happy Easter - 2009

I hope everyone has a nice Easter. Me, personally? My least favorite holiday. Less candy then Halloween, long and formal, no interisting TV programs or movies, and I think Easter ham is nasty. Its all wet and mushy and has mustard and sugar plus pineapples on the outside. Ewwwwww. I did paint nice little Boba Fett egg though. I'll take a picture of it before it gets obliterated into deviled egg tomarrow.

Oh, and Zim for the win! <3

Re: Happy Easter - 2009

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Working at a grocery store taught me to hate every holiday except this one. Yes, I am in incredible back pain from hauling around tons of eggs (eggs come packed in 24s, and you wouldn't think they'd be heavy, but, they're just about heavier than a case of butter! And those are 36 pounds), and a few times after work I couldn't move and had to just sit there with a heating pad on my back... But I still love Easter. I love the feeling of spring. I love the flowers and the bloom of new life coming back into the world. I love the sun today, which is odd cause normally I don't like sunlight that much. Everything is happy and pretty. A gentle breeze makes it better though. Everyone dresses up in their spring best. You go to church and it's all happy. I mean, today's the day Jesus rose. What's not to celebrate about that??? After all, that is the real meaning behind Easter. It's not all about eggs and bunnies. But you don't have to skip that part either. Cause after church everyone goes down to the park for the easter party and egg hunt and the kids are running around finding eggs and there's bbquing going on and people are talking and having fun. Then you all go home and enjoy your candy and get into other clothes, especially the kids who would ruin their nice stuff. And then later you have a nice dinner. Or you could have your own little egg hunt in your backyard with just your kids. I know a lot of the non-christian aspects of Easter are for kids, but adults can still have fun too. Egg dying, easter baskets, and candy! And this is the time of year where people are trying to lose their winter weight to look good for summer clothes which show a lot more skin than heavy winter coats. So it's a good thing this isn't really a candy holiday. (though you do have to keep me from buying mounds of jelly beans.... why must they be made of fat??) But you know, it's ok that the focus isn't on candy, cause it's not. The point and focus of Easter is, of course, Jesus. But if you're not Christian you can still have fun today with eggs and candy, and that's fine too. Cause today is still partially about new life, spring, birds chirping, flowers starting to come up, leaves starting to come out. It's about coming out of the dead of winter (our life of sin?) into the new life of spring (being born again through Him?). See? Easter is all around a great holiday that everyone and anyone can love and enjoy, for whatever reason you wish. As for me? I love all aspects of it. ....except this stupid back pain....

Oh, btw? If you guys see a floor display of eggs and then right behind that are the EXACT SAME eggs....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE *gets on knees begging* take from the boxes on the floor!!!!! Having to bend down, take eggs from the box, and put them on the shelf, in a constant leaning over state, is 99% of why I have this back pain. (I almost threw up and later almost fainted, that's how bad it got one day) I hope everyone who took from the shelf breaks their back so they know I feel. I even TOLD some people that it's so much easier for me if you took from the box, I made my point to so many people, and yet they watch me fill the shelf from the floor and then watched me rub my back with a look of extreme pain on my face.... and then take from the shelf. And no one will believe me when I say these people are evil.

Re: Happy Easter - 2009

it's done and dusted

but mine was good. I only got a few easter eggs. But I'm not fussed over Easter. Sure, it's a holiday, but still, it's not christmas or a birthday.

I wonder how much that chocolate coloured marble egg is? ( see top )

Re: Happy Easter - 2009

I've still got most of my candy (I'm really good at making it last for some reason. I can even make Halloween candy last to Thanksgiving). All the chocolate is melting though. D= Only in Arizona does chocolate melt in April (it can melt in February too, actually).

Re: Happy Easter - 2009

Chocolate is candy. Sweets and candy are basically the same thing. Over there aren't a lot of sweets made from chocolate? Over here almost every kind of candy has chocolate in it.

Re: Happy Easter - 2009

You don't know of chocolate and peanut butter?? So you mean you don't know what Reeses is? Reeses are the best, they're my absolute favorite.

I know what Cadbury is, we sell them here too. They're more expensive though. Hershey's is what I eat mostly, it's another chocolate company.

Re: Happy Easter - 2009

I'm with Miba.  Reeses is definitley the best.  That's my Kryptonite, I think.  I used to love it when Easter came around, because they made those special Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs.  But now they also have the Reeses pumpkins for Halloween and the Reeses trees for Christmas.  They taste so much better than the regular Reeses cups, I think, because they're big enough to put more peanut butter in them.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

"Hey, you got your peanut butter all over my chocolate.....Hey, you got your chocolate all over my peanut butter."

And you know that the Fettster has been a Reeses man since the 80's.
