Topic: Plans for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is coming up, what smoochy plans do you have for your partner? For me it'll probably be a dinner in, we're too poor at the moment due to wedding costs...

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

The old man gave me part of the Valentine's gift the other day: a key chain with the Fett skull symbol. He just couldn't hold out. Who needs diamonds?

We usually just do a nice dinner, kick back, and watch a fun movie. I work so much these days, it's nice to set asside "us" time, and just chill.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptuials Mel!

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

I don't have any plans cause we're not together in RL yet. Hopefully we can do Valentines Day together next year. But this year I sent him a teddy bear holding a heart (it looks a lot like his favorite teddy bear from when he was a kid), a card, and a letter. I'm still waiting for his to get to me.

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

Unfortunately my boyfriend goes to a school four hours away from me, so we're just going to have a phone call.  But still, I'm very excited about it.

Thanks Ursula, the big day is Saturday 6 May. I'll just be glad when the organising is over and we can enjoy the honeymoon. We're going to Adelaide in South Australia so that should be really nice - lots of wine country wink

And as for those on their lonesome, don't worry you'll find someone when you least expect it. A blind date worked for me wink

My boyfriend sent me a bouquet!  I was so surprised, and it's definitely the prettiest bouquet I've ever seen.  smile

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

Ooh, the Unleashed figure.  I sure hope you paid less for it than I did when I bought it off of E-bay ($30; I was desperate).  As for my bouquet, it had lilies and irises and roses (but only yellow ones, because the bf thinks red ones have indecent connotations) and carnations and some other stuff that I didn't recognize.

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

Ouch, that's awful.  But I bought mine right after they came out, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

I miss Elementary school's Valentines day. Ah yes, the good ole days, where you bought a box of Valentines that feature your favorite thing, and have to adress one to everyone (even the person you hated) and had to go around and stick them in a red, pink, and white box you made in class.

I miss those days because I was the one everyone was forced to give one too XD

You're not alone.  That's probably true of many of us here.

What Would Boba Do?

Yep. Agree completely.

Until I discovered other groups of geeks like me, I thought, gee , what the heck is wrong with all these unimaginative, homogenous, lunk heads that surround me.  Meanwhile they thought, what f'ing planet is this nut job from?  While all the other girls were getting into make up, miniskirts and heels, I was learning the electric guitar, wearing chuck taylors and spending my weekends at the theater watching re-released star wars again and again and again.  When I didn't see the movie, I'd build elaborate sets with figures and tie fighters and such, and take pictures of them with my instamatic camera.  Really really bad pictures. I devoured every novel that came out, and when I didn't have one to read, I'd write my own stuff to keep entertained.  I'm not even sure I knew when Valentine's day even was back then, and trust me, no one was sending me cards to remind me.  But I'll tell you this:  I knew the schedule of every creation convention and comic con in the New York City area. The flyers they sent me were my favorite type of mail next to my star wars fan club stuff.

Congrats!!!Wish you two a long and happy one!

Re: Plans for Valentine's Day

I think for me it was a hard hit when Middle School came, and the only "Valentines" I'd get were insulting/inapropriate things written on a peice of school paper and thrown at me. High School is almost just as bad though, navigating through all the making out couples and 50 million pink and red balloons x.X

Folks like that are lame. When they hit real life at graduation they'll crash and burn. And you'll shine. Hang in there!
