Topic: Old and New: SNs

Ok, I'm very slow about this sorta thing, back at the sw.com boards when you could change your SN I never knew who I was talking to, even if it was someone I knew well. So... what was your SN on the old boards, so I know who you guys all are? So far I've only been able to guess at a few, and that's cause they were obvious.

Mine was Obi-Wan_Fett. And yours was?

What's 133t-speak?

1337-speak is using numbers and letters to make words. Example: 7#!5 !5 1337 74||<.  I forgot how to make a P so I said talk instead of speak. Anyway, I said, "This is leet speak". Leet is short for elite, and it's "the language of the elite". I think it was made by gamers, but I could be wrong. You can google 1337 alphabet to know how to use it. Though some of the characters in 1337-speak are "special characters", and the only way I know how to make those is by using Alt codes, which you can also google up a listing of.

But here's a quickie alphabet of the ones I do remember:
A = 4 or @
B = 8
C = (
D = |)
E = 3
F = |=
G = 9
H = #
J = I forget
I = ! 1 or |
K = |<
L = 1 or |
M = |\/|
N = |\|
O = 0
P = I forget
Q = I forget
R = |2 (but there's an alt code you can use, but I forget what that is)
S = 5
T = 7
U = |_|
V = \/
X = I forget
Y = '/
Z = I forget

As a side note, I find it very annoying...  At least when people type sentences in it. Names and stuff are okay though. :)

1337 is sometimes annoying to me, but I usually don't mind it too much. I normally don't use it though.

Go to "profile", click "personality" on the side and upload one from your computer. If you don't have one that will suffice, you can always request one in the avatar request thread. :)

It seems neat, but I can see how it might get under the skin after a bit.
I like it for names, makes it distinctive.
