So, where have you met other Boba & Jango Fett fans... besides here @ the BFFC...
I met a fan a few weeks ago at work, it was very unexpected...
I'm a cashier at Ace Hardware. This costumer comes up who wants to by some hay. So, as I'm using a radio to call outside to see if we have any hay available, he says "Hey, I like your shirt... Boba Fett's on it." And of course, being the uber-geek that I am, smile insanely and exclaim "Oh my gosh! Really? Boba Fett's my favorite!! I've never had anyone recognize Boba Fett on my shirt before!! Look, it says fangirl on it! I got it for my birthday last year!"
Of course, he asks where I got it (starwars.com), and then I finish the transaction.. but still, it was so funny, I just love it when unexpected things like that happen! I think I might have scared him a bit... lol.
Anyway, has anyone here met a Fett fan in an odd place?

At my school, there was at least 3 fans i knew of.Then, I came along and started spreading my influence. Now there's ten of us.
Everyone I know in RL is either not a Fett fan or wouldn't even recognize who he is. I was wearing a Boba shirt once and had some old lady ask me if it was an astronaut. 0_0

Actually I was the only person I knew who was a Fett fan before finding this website.

That was what I was going to say.
Everyone should check out this movie. Too bad only chapter 1's ready.

Miba, that is hilarious! But, granted, she was an old lady... :P

Hm, how odd... there's this girl at my school, and I'm not saying this to be mean, but she does suffer from a severe mental illness/learning disability. Well, I was in the bathroom one day, washing my hands, and she comes out of one of the stalls and looks at my purse... which at the time had a giant pin with Boba Fett on it. She asked me if I liked Star Wars, so I said, "Yes, Boba's my favorite." And she told me she like him too, but liked Jango better. Well, I would say hi to her in the halls after that, but I haven't bumped into her lately. She probably doesn't remember ever speaking to me, to be honest.
There's another Star Wars fan in my grade... he's pretty hardcore like me, reads books and stuff. Wants to join the 501st. I talk to him quite a bit, but his perverted sense of humor gets on my nerves... but anyways, he thinks Boba's pretty cool. However, he was talking to me one day about quantum physics or something, and somehow through time travel you could make clones possible! And he said he'd make a clone army! I was like, "Noo, that's so unethical! Don't you feel terrible for the clones in Star Wars?" He doesn
t care!! So I don't like him for saying that... :'(
Sharra, I bet you were surprised then to see so many fans online then!
I used to play the STCCG from Decipher so at tournements and conventions you would meet alot of Fett fans, but that was almost 8 years ago now and I have lost contact with most of them. :(

There was an informal meet-up of BFFC fans, including myself, at the 2007 San Diego Comic Con.
Maybe there should be some more formal meet-ups?
aaron@bobafettfanclub.com
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............ComicCon
I don't live that far; Yuma AZ. Maybe I can make the next one. Might come in full Battle Armor if it's done to ;) Is that done there? or is that not really the right forum for a SW costum?
While I have yet to meet any die hard FETT fans out there, yet, there are plenty of MANDO/SPARTAN wannabes through out the military.
I have a few buddies that are big, big fans of the CLONES and look forward to more CLONE related things. They are not far from being FETT lovers soon as the dive deeper into it.
I met hundreds of Fett fans at a Star Wars convention in Pittsburgh.
everyone i know who knows what Star Wars is likes Boba Fett.

Yes, we should start a Fett-con, or just a meeting thing at a convention, or just somewhere. The only thing is, some of us live in Europe, and in far away parts of the US.
I have several SW fan friends, but alas, I am the only mando/fett fan.
p.s. You live in Yuma, RD? I used to live in Tempe!
one is my best friend
same here.
lol, I think the only person who I know from other than here who is a slight fett fan would be my photo teacher. Funny story, was just messing around in class one day and was drawing Boba and my photo teacher actually recognized who he was and we ended up spending the rest of the class talking about star wars, gotta love that class. Other than that, one of my best friends is a huge star wars fan like me, although she's all for the jedi and I'm quite a bit more dark side ;) :P
A couple of people in my group of friends... It's sad that some people don't know him. I was getting food at Subway once, wearing one of my Boba shirts, and the guy was like "What's your shirt say?" I let him read it, then he goes, "What's that from?"
I sort of stared at him and went, "Boba Fett?' Blank stare. "You know, from Star Wars?" Continued blank stare. "Oh come on, you know, Empire Strikes Back? The most awesome bounty hunter in the galaxy? The one who carted off a carbon frozen Han???"
That's when I got a feigned, "Oh, yeah, right... I remember now."
Suuure buddy. *sighs*
I have a shirt with the mythosaur skull on it. And i have had exactly two people recognize it. One was a kid at my after school program, and was all "OOH! That's something to do with Boba Fett!" This kid was just as big as a SW fan as I was, but just much younger. It blew the minds of the other teachers how i could get him to listen and manage to have and actual conversation with him. The second was a kid in my painting class this past spring, and noticed that it was Boba Fett as well. I told him about the site hoping he would join.... but.... oh well.

That much makes a lot of sense. Clones, Mando's, and Spartans are all warriors, so they'd naturally identify more with them than Jedi or Boba (as he's a bounty hunter, not a warrior or professional soldier). Though Mando's aren't too well known.

First post in a while ... a lot of working has kept me off the site for a while. I have one friend who likes Boba Fett but thats all I can think of at the moment.
I may not have actually met other Fett fans in person but one thing I DID see the other day was a guy wearing a t-shirt that said "Nerf Herder". It was the name of a band inspired by the Star Wars series.

I went with two friends of mine to visit a friend of there's that I hadn't been acquainted with yet. Well it turns out she is a fan of Star Wars and her favorite character is none other than Boba.
The three of us also played Star Wars Trilogy Trivial Pursuit... which I managed to win, though it was a close game with the other Fett Fan. :D
I just found one at school. Was in my creative writing class and my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw a Mando skull patch on the back of this dude's back pack. He's only just discovering the Mando'ade, but I'm having a great time having someone I can finally talk to face to face about this stuff
I asked sergeant major (Our teacher/coach for ROTC) if i could stitch on a madolorian sign on our navy uniform, of course he said no, but then i asked if he watched any star wars, he said yes, i then asked him which movies/guys do you like? then he said, the clone soliders. when i heard this, i thought he was gonna allow us to wear stromtrooper outfits and march and stuff with the outfits on , that'd be so motha f****** awsome.
Then what he said shocked me, he says "so hawk ( he gives everyone a nickname in ROTC) did you join because of the soliders in star wars? ( he is refering to the clone's when he says soliders)
And then i said, they influenced the decsision alot. he said starship troopers made him think about the military.
And then i told him if it was possible to clone me, and name the clone boba, then he said get out of here troy.
But then he told me,
if i got into the military, and there is a war, that i would be allowed to place symbols on our outfits and what not.

Nowhere I'm the only Boba fan I know of. :( Well besides J(best friend) 'cause she likes Jango but I had to drag her into Star Wars kick'n and screaming the whole way but now she loves it. :) She's even considering joining BFFC. :D But I'm the only Boba lover I know. I saw a guy dressed as B. and was like Ah Ah look it's Boba Fett!! And my Nana was like WHO? and I had only been telling her about him for three straight HOURS

Well thats virtually my answer too, so i don't think its that sad. Well no more sad than me. I only wish i could meet some people in real life that enjoy, not just Boba, but Star Wars as much as I do.

i have a green boba fett shirt and everytime i wear it, at least one person comments....positively :)
its quite the conversation starter.
One of me best mates is a big Fett fan (he's the one who labeled me a Mando-lover). Also, Fett is my brother's favourite SW character. I don't really know anyone else who likes Fett a lot.

What? gosh.... I haven't met any SW fans outside my family but at least I have them...
-Boba Fett-
my friend joe is a fett fan as well and he lives right up the street
I know at least one, two, three, possibly four others, one of which is a member here. Most of 'em are prety close in location to me.
School [when I was in it]..... also, friends over the years... online: MySpace, StarWars@ning and Last.FM
Sounds like you've met a LOT of Fett fans!!

My Fettish has rubbed off on the little 6 year old boy I babysit. He loves using Boba in the Mos Eisley level in SW: Battlefront Il, haha, but he puts the funniest emphasis on the name Boba... he says it really quickly so that it almost sounds like "Bobo" heheh.
Anytime I wear a Fett shirt I usually hear something from someone, but not every time.
I tend to not converse with strangers much though, which almost defeats the purpose of being here :/
Well here is a GREAT place for someone who tends not to converse with strangers because you get to maintain your anonymity.
Yeah, I talk way more OL than I ever do in RL. I say more things, and I say them better. In RL my speech is terrible and people have trouble understanding what I'm saying, and I have trouble saying what I want or mean to say. It's just easier OL. I can take my time and figure out what to say, if I say something wrong I can go back and fix it. And, yes, the anonymity of it is really nice, I can say my opinion without worry that anyone would hate me. I mean, I do care what you guys think, just, it's easier to be yourself when it's not in person.

It seems to me a lot of people misinterpret people online...But then they do it in real life too, so, lol.
I met one on Facebook the other day. I didn't know them, but they said they were searching for a friend and saw my profile picture(Boba, of course). They might join here too.
About a year ago, when I was in the Civil Air Patrol, a cadet came from the Illinois Wing to visit his cousin, in our squadron. During a model rocket building class, I handed him a piece of styrofoam, and noticed he had the skull tattooed on his forearm. Later I told him I like his mythosaur, and he told me he was a Merc. Pretty cool.

Whereas I'm pretty much the same person online and off. I try to keep the smoke and mirrors to a minimum.... saves time and effort. I am who I am, and people will react to me as me; not some make-believe facade.
Some people go so far as to pretend they're the opposite GENDER and even cyber people for real life gifts *shudders*. There's RP and then there's... Cree-P.

The problem with me is I'm just very, very shy, regardless if I'm directly talking to someone or sitting at a computer. I do, however, read nearly every post, even if I don't always respond to them.
This may sound a bit wierd but, SOS Haruhi, remember him, the biggest spammer in this site's history. I know him personally and he is a Fett fan.

I've met maybe 10-12 people who visit the site, out of the thousands who come here every day. One small group of us went to a San Diego Comic Con together.
Check out our Facebook for, uh, faces and cities of people. Good luck guessing usernames to real names, though:

I tend to say something to anyone I pass up who's sporting Boba Fett wear.

Now see, that kind of thinking is exactly opposite of how I see what we do here.
I mean, if I had people around me to talk to about BF then I wouldn't participate near as much as I do. I am here because I don't have folks to chat with about my interest in SW and BF.
Being part of this community gives people, like me, an opportunity to connect to others who share my interest. It brings together, otherwise perfect strangers, in a forum where they can share and communicate in a "safety zone" I don't want to get too pseudo-psychological but as we talked about in another thread the BFFC is a lot like a subculture. So being a member in my opinion says more about your interest in SW/BF than about how social you are. :)
Anyway, I met a guy in Hong Kong, on a streetcar heading toward Wan Chai, a district in HK,
who had an awesome tat on his calf of Boba Fett. I had to comment on it and he turned out to be from the same general area of the planet I am, OC, California. Small world huh? I have, However, never met anyone in Japan who is a fan! :(
