Altmann Boba Fett Helmet

Very impressive display piece, made mostly from thick plastic.  The ear caps and rangefinder stalk are made from metal and gives the helmet some slight heft.  Since the rangefinder stalk is metal, if you try to wear it, it obviously tends to lean more to the right side of your head.  The range finder moves up and down, but the metal seems to be pretty rough and not sanded down well.  You can easily pick up some metal burrs if you run your bare hand or finger down the stalk, so caution is advised with that.  It should be noted that these were displayed in stores on a plastic display stand that looked like the top chest and shoulders of Boba Fett's armor.  Most stores just threw these away.  I was lucky enough to find one on eBay, as seen in one of the pics above.  If you happen to find one with the shoulder display stand, they need to be handled with care to avoid it cracking.  The helmet stand is pretty solid, but the plastic shoulder display itself is very thin flimsy plastic and prone to cracking easily.  The helmet itself, though, is very solid and makes a unique addition to any Fett collection.
