Los Angeles Times Syndicate

First appearance of Boba Fett in a newspaper comic strip.

Boba Fett's first panel was June 19, 1980. The last panel was published August 10, 1980.

This would place this as the first Boba Fett comic appearance because Star Wars #42 (commonly referred to as the first comic book appearance of Boba Fett) is dated months later in 1980.

Written by Russ Manning. Artwork by Al Williamson.

Dave Stevens assisted Russ, who fell ill during this particular newspaper strip series. Rick Hoberg did ink work.

Later re-published in full color by Dark Horse Comics for "Classic Star Wars: The Early Adventures #9" (1995) and "Classic Star Wars: The Early Adventures Volume 4" with some minor touch-ups to the layout.

Notable Quotes

"Don't puff yourself, space bum! You're just side money for me, this trip!"
- Boba Fett
