Topic: ....Oh yeah! Captain America died.

In case you don't know (and how could you not, the media's all over it like ugly Michael Jackson), Cptain America was shot and killed by a sniper in February's Captain America #25. Here's what it says on wikipedia:

"In the 2006 Civil War crossover, Captain America opposes mandatory federal registration of all super-powered beings and leads the Anti-Registration faction and resistance movement. He becomes a fugitive and opposes the heroes of the Pro-Registration group, including his former friend Iron Man. He adopts the alias "Brett Hendrick", a mall security guard, to avoid government detection.[37] As the War continues, Cap enlists the assistance of several figures whom he would not choose to ally himself with under normal circumstances, such as the Punisher and the Kingpin.[38] At the climax of a battle between Registration and resistance proponents, Captain America realizes that his fight against the Act is endangering civilians, removes his mask, and surrenders to authorities as Steve Rogers. He orders the anti-Registration forces to stand down. As Rogers is led away in handcuffs, the Punisher picks up his discarded mask.

Following his surrender, Steve Rogers is indicted on multiple criminal charges. As he is brought to a federal courthouse, a sniper shoots him in the back. In the crowd chaos that ensues, he is wounded an additional three times by gunshots to the stomach and chest. Rogers is taken to a hospital, where he succumbs to his wounds.

The assassination, orchestrated by the Red Skull, involves Crossbones deployed as the sniper. In addition, Dr. Faustus, posing as a S.H.I.E.L.D. psychiatrist, has manipulated Sharon Carter and implanted in her mind a hypnotic suggestion that she believes caused her to shoot Rogers at the crucial moment."

I did. My bad. See I still have dial-up (a demon for which there is no comparison), and I thought it hadn't accepted the first time.

Re: ....Oh yeah! Captain America died.

It's the silly civil war stuff.  Like Cap and Iron Man against each other.  It's bleh.

Re: ....Oh yeah! Captain America died.

I like the idea of the civil war, but I think Marvel should re-think who should be on either side, and NOT KILL OFF CAP!!!!!

Re: ....Oh yeah! Captain America died.

I think the civil war is a good idea also, but I don't think it should have been over their hidden identities... It just seems like a stupid thing to have such a big controversy over.

As for the cap dying... he is definately not coming back anytime soon. Too much media coverage to even think about it. But I also think he should have had a more... patriotic death. Maybe diving in front of a bullet for someone... or being blown up saving a small kid from nearby a gas truck accident. An unknown sniper... cmon...

Good... Bad... I'm the one with the gun.
Hail to the King Baby!!

Re: ....Oh yeah! Captain America died.

Anticlimatic much?
I respect their idea to make the civil war arc, but do they really have to go to such lengths to amintain an audience?  They'll get a lot of publicity for this, but much of it will be negative; readers don't like seeing their favourite character portrayed as a criminal/outlaw, or having said favourite hero killed.
