Re: Short Deaths

Yes...excellent novel.  He has a very unique writing style...should probably read it again.  One of my favorite parts (I'll try not to spoil), is when he does the fight between Obi-Wan and Greivous.  Much more exciting in the book, and answers the question of how a four-armed, hyperfast droid trained by Tyrannus and killed countless Jedi was taken down by Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Speaking of Shatterpoint, have you read the book adaption for the Revenge of the Sith by....Matthew Stover?
Awesome book.  I enjoyed it much more than the movies.  He really gets into the mind of the characters and fleshes out the interaction between Anakin and Palpatine, makes his fall much more believable.
And when you do get around to reading the NJO, Matthew authors a story about Jacen being held prisoner by the Vong...One of the best books in the entire series.  I can't wait until they give him some more room in the Star Wars universe to write his stuff...instead of giving Troy Denning all the good projects.

I have the book, but I haven't read it yet. Maby I should now that you mention it...

good shout dooku's death is an outrage. if anyone has read clone wars they will notice that dooku is so elusive over the two years that he rarely fights jedi except for a brief encounter with mace. no jedi can catch him, then all of a sudden out of the blue he decides to attack two of the most powerful jedi in the order with two battle droids.

what a joke.

"Stand aside I will kill you if I have to" (Bobba Fett to darth vedar in enemy of the empire)
"I should shoot you just for asking about that" (Jango Fett to count dooku for mentioning Galidraan)

Dooku didn't want the Jedi to take Palpatine. That is why they were there, and Dooku's mission was to stop them. The only way he could do it would be to fight them. He didn't just one day say, "Hm, I should have a rematch with those two losers." He had a reason for fighting them, just as they had a reason for fighting him.

Re: Short Deaths

Actually, the ROTS novel says Palpatine set the whole fight up, that Palpatine had told Dooku to kill Obi-Wan and then fight Anakin, a sort of test for Anakin, another stepping stone into the Dark Side. What he hadn't told Dooku was that he was ok with letting Dooku die. Also, Dooku thought they should turn Obi-Wan, and not Anakin, which is why Dooku didn't outright kill Obi-Wan.

Or at least that's why my bf told me. I haven't read the novel, but he has.

I think Dooku had it coming to him. Loved how his head was cut off. REVENGE!

Oh, no, that's not a problem at all. From the Jedi's pov what you said makes perfect sense. smile

Re: Short Deaths

i felt Greivous had a short death. He was built up as this unstopable killing machine, and then he is rather easily killed by Kenobi. I suppose Grevious was built up as much as he was, so that when kenobi killed him, it made obi wan look even more powerful, and his fight with Anakin seemed more a clash of the titans.

I think it showed Kenobi's intelligence more than his power. He was smart enough to pull his organs out, and fire on them. But it took 3 shots before he burned to flames, so I think it was definately not a short death.

BTW:
What is your definition of a short death? It only takes a second for anyone to cease living.

I agree with you there, i hate thinking what kind of life the clones got. Yes they enjoyed what they did, but they deserved a longer life with alot more vacations. I can just see a cartoon of a clone daydreaming he was on the beach with all of his brothers building a gigantic sand castle....lol. The clones deserve alot more credit than they get and it still sickens me when they die.

Re: Short Deaths

Clones only lasted so long, stormtroopers are draftees and humans wanting to join in the empire. Mostly, I belive in one story or another Han is supposed to be a stormtrooper drop out

That's correct, han was a stromtrooper till he quit, i forget why though. And yes, i think most if not all of the stormtroopers are not clones.

I am not a moderator, so I cannot make you, but please check the dates of the topics. I am not sure how long a topic is supposed to go with out replies on this board, but on another board that I joined, it is one month. I would assume it is about the same for this one. Again, since I am not a moderator, this is just a suggestion.

Well.....maybe the stormtroopers are the clones mixed with humans. I'm kinda confused now. hmm
