Hello again - after ages of inactivity - and wow! This site has changed so much since I've last seen it... it's amazing :D
Some of you know of me from this heavy topic: "Mando & Trooper fan art" and I want to apologize for "disappearing" without explanation; there have been some ups and downs on my side of things so the creativity was kind of lost...
The good news is that I'm back with productions and I just couldn't keep them to myself! Here they are - clone stuff, I know you guys like'em - so enjoy!

very nice, i like the backdrop of the galactic marine, there is a nice sense of depth to the pic, with the horizon smoking. good to have ur skills back.
Sweet, Daenna! You make this clone-fan very happy! :D
Do we know that commando, or is he an anonymous one? Not that it would matter, I'm just curious. :)

cool like the commando its pretty cool
Good to see you back! Nice work!

Great to see you again :), and excellent artwork as ever. :P
I think, therfore i am I destroy, therfore i endure - IG-88 tales of the bounty hunters
Welcome back, Daenna! And with what two stunning artworks. Real nifty job on both of them, especially the GM - he looks even a bit Tom Hodges like, heh.
You're really good at shadows, the RC shows that... my only "complaint" (that word just doesn't fit at all) would be that there is no else plastic shading at all, but then again, that is just a different style, so no failure here.
Like I said, awesome job, there really is some Tom Hodges look. :D

you will be a contestant of this "kids got talent" ok i really had to get that out of my system but really great job!!
The Republic Commando is very nice. The shading is a perfect touch for a very nice dramatic effect.
holy talk about a good drawer ok just had to get that out of my system but very cool art work
Once agian...the people here make me feel inferior with my drawin skills (or lack thereof)
anyways I like the Galactic Marine a little better, dont know why, just do.

Great to have you back. We have a great pool of artistic talent on the site here, I really have to say.
"I'm just a simple Fan, trying to make my way in the universe."
Talk about coming back with a boom. Nice job, Daenna! I loved the Marine picture. And the shading on both is fantastic.
(With the artists on this sight, I suddenly feel quite inferior)
Hi Daenna, I see your art is just as good as ever - glad to have you back :D
It was like thousands of voices cried out for a sequel and were suddenly silenced...
Great to have you back, Daenna! Your art is amazing
Thanks very much everybody! :D
It is good to be back indeed... There's so much I could have done to improve my skills but I'm glad it's still there, hehe! About that RC: it was originally a small doodle on my sketch book and I didn't really think of a character while doing it. Could be anybody, really... I also wanted to practice backlights, not knowing exactly how to place the shadow on him.
Here's a work in progress I'd like to show off, because I'm a huge fan of him, a sketch of Bardan Jusik (from Republic Commando: Triple Zero that I'm reading again) in full armor this time. By the way, don't look if this is spoilers for you :P
> Bardan Jusik #2 sketch<
It is set sometime in future aboard a ship, hypothetically when all the Jedi have gone to hiding and Bardan had to make a choice in his life as a Jedi or Mando.... Here I thought it would be cool if making this "choice" was totally optional for Bard'ika :D Anyway I'll soon print this baby in larger size to work on some real line-art. And then add some colors!
Oh wow....*drools* I caaaaaaaaan't wait!!!!!
Train your sons to be strong, and your daughters to be stronger.
*flails*
You know, Daenna, some people just seem to "have" awesomeness, and you're one of them! Wow, on the Jusik drawing. Seriously, wow.
I can't wait for the finished product!

Really good stuff, Daenna.
"I'm just a simple Fan, trying to make my way in the universe."
Thanks so much guys! I know it's a pretty ambitious work there... and I had printer issues so I decided to skip the whole inking part and just do it entirely in Photoshop.
Which gives this nice cartoony style!
Ok, sorry for splashing it all over the screen and I hope I didn't spoil it for any of you (I sure hope everybody here has read the RC novels! :D)
Too awesome. Seriously. Way too awesome! *thumbs-up*
Kandosii, ner vod!

I was going to read it.... thanks......
(kidding, im reading starship troopers, And i didnt plan to read the rest of the series any time soon.)

Hey thanks a lot for the replies :D
I got more stuff! CorranFett commissioned me with more Mando art, so I'm working on one of his characters: Gladus Tite:

And here I have another Mando drawing you might like :)

Say hi to Mr Tite...
It was a lot of fun :D
He dosnt look like a very happy person at the moment. But nicely drawn.
Interrogations are hard...
He's not sad, he's just contemplating. And that's rather rare for the "unemotional" Gladus Tite. ;)
Great job, Daenn'ika, I really like it, like I said. :D

am i wrong or is this the poop?
daenna blessed some of my black and white world with color!
ok enough hyperbole, this is my 3rd version of kujo. i think im getting
pretty close to what i wantout of this character(visually).
as once stated he is an echani(emperors guards) watchman.
anywho. thanks again daenna.
Very nice job she did here, your styles go well together. But I'd like the see the lineart as well. :P I think I preferred the helmet on Version 2, though...
How're you doing, cujo? You still wanna send me that Spiker in hi-res. :D
http://www.daves-sw-rogues.de/fanfics.htm - http://corranfett.deviantart.com/
No problem, cujo! I had lots of fun with your ink art - since I didn't need to draw anything I could focus 100% on the colors...
Speaking of colors, today I learned how to do "digital painting" with a pen tablet and Photoshop. This took me all day but I kinda like the result:
thats realy cool

Ya mean...you didn't know how to do that before? O_o

What kind of tablet you got?

This one: http://www.wacom.com/BambooTablet/bamboo.cfm
Yes I'm really new at painting. So far all I did with Photoshop was using the mouse for strokes and it looks awful (and it hurts on larger pics) so I use paths instead. Here for the digital painting the only "artificial" thing is the background gradient and laser blade :) The rest is manual brushing, "inks" included.
ooo, I love that last one, it's beautiful!

Very cool, Daenna! It's very dramatic, with the sunset coloring the sky, and the clouds down below the cliff. And I must say I LOVE the wavering sun. Awesome effect!
Oh, and did Jusik just chuck someone off the cliff? Just curious! :)
-----Rodney McKay
Sweet, Wacom's the way to go.
I've got some little Hanvon thing, but it's about the same methinks. Good sensitivity and it can usually keep up with me.
Wishing I had 1800 bucks for an Intuos.... :( Twenty inches of monitor to draw on......

Thanks all! Much appreciated :D

I was pacing myself about that! But in the end I decided to let it hang for people to wonder...
Since I'm currently writing fiction about "Bounty Hunter Jusik" there is this unavoidable thing that I want to bring up: the Jedi hunt! The spoon benders always get in the way of bounty hunters (or the other way around) and I want to picture that kind of confrontation. The main problem is that Bard'ika is a truly moral person, even as a merc, but I can't see him stepping away from a fight if it meant saving his own life.... Difficult to describe in a still picture, so that's definitely something to look into!
Guys, between the end of last year and last month I had some kind of "inspiration burst" that made me draw sooo much stuff, as if I was on liquid Schwarz the whole time!
So this is a bulk update, to show (off) the cool Mandalorian-related art I made! There's a lot of Bardan Jusik, so bear with me :P
(click on the thumbs to enlarge)
The last one is a commission for a devArt buddy and I'm currently working up a list of other Mandalorian characters people have requested, but I'm slooow.
And while passing time (aka. procrastinating) I figured I'd pop by in the old bobafett club and see how you're all doing.
As always your art is amazingly beautiful! Good job!

Wow. I wish you came here more often. I loved your stuff, i had to show it off more. :)
"Suggestion: Electrocution works well. Evisceration and Decapitation are also effective, or um, so I've heard."
fantastic work
Thanks everyone. I want to submit some of these to SW fan art galleries but I honestly don't know where to start. BFFC.com is more about the Fetts, isn't it?
Doesn't TFN have fanart galleries too? You could try there if they do. And I'm sure they do, I just don't think I've been there.

They do, but every time I try to browse the art there's an error in the code and the pages don't show. Then there's the Jedi Council forum and I'd have to literally resurrect a semblance of social life there... honestly I can't fit that in my time frame now that I'm back here.
+ I'm starting new website with Mando related stuff and working on doing something more out of it. Eventually I'd want to have an artwork/fan fiction archive with stuff from Boba Fett to Clones and also original characters around the Mandalorian thing.
Edit: here's what I'm currently working on, slapping some colors there but I quite like the black and white ink...
It's all done with a Wacom pen tablet, sketched and "inked" in Photoshop. The result is just like using traditional tools, just goes much faster and it's always clean.
These are two sisters from Republic Commando: Burdens a story by a mando nut friend of mine.
Wow, great work you have there. Whenever I read Republic Commando, your drawings of Bardan are what I mentally pictured. Seriously, great stuff.
