Topic: Star Wars: Celebration V

Well, I don't know if anyone here has heard or not, but C5 is coming to my neck of the woods at the Orange County Convention Center, located in Orlando, FL August 2010. It's supposed to be bigger than C4, so we'll see. Details in the link below.

They need to be farther west. A LOT farther west.

CIV was in Los Angelos, wasn't it? And CI was in Denver. And then Cs II and III were both in Indianapolis. So I guess it is time for it to go somewhere different.

I only got to go to the first one, while I was stationed in Wyoming at the time.  It was pretty cool, but not near as much people that it draws now.  I just remember it came out around the same time Phantom Menace was around, so there was Darth Maul stuff for sale everywhere.

Too bad I'll be at Osan Air Base, South Korea during this one, or I'd try to hit it up.  Been wanting to go to one for a while, but just been too busy with work.  Oh well.

Looks like some very nice Fett artwork can be expected at the Celebration V this year.  I especially like the one of Fett overlooking the arrival of the Falcon on Cloud City (and he even got the armor and blaster rifle correct).

Also, looking at that top picture in your Round Two post *post #11,* that's a really awesome job, but I don't think it's Boba..  which may actually make it even more impressive to me.  That or it's a fan-fiction/Mando'ed out version of Boba.  Note the Jaing eyes on the helmet and the emblem on his left breast plate.  Anybody know the character or reference on that one?

And I totally agree Sadriel, that first image you linked of Boba watching the Falcon and its crew is epic.  If only THAT was a part of the first Special Addition... that and his battle with IG-88

ralin is right, it looks like Jango's armor.

I think it's loosely based off of old Boba Fett concept art images.  In some of the concept art images, he had Jaig Eyes and other different symbols painted on his armor (some of which made their way onto Clone Trooper armor in the Clone Wars series).  I thought it was a Death Watch symbol on his chest, at first, but looking closer at it, it looks more like an upside down version of the Hawkbat symbol, like the one on the helmet of the ARC Trooper Gunship pilot in the original Clone Wars cartoon series.

Wish they'd show ARC Troopers in the new series, or even Republic Commandos.  They never have explained why Rex is wearing ARC Trooper armor.  I guess it's implied that he was one of the "ARC Trained" Clone Trooper officers, like Bly, Gree, etc.

Also, a new Celebration V "Tribute" poster featuring the Fettster himself.  The artist even went so far as to contact The Dented Helmet and found out that even the Skull shoulder emblems were different between Fett's Empire and Jedi costumes, so the posters reflect that.

In case you didn't want to spend all that money they've been asking for some of the Celebration 5 Fett posters and prints on eBay, they've just released many of them for pre-order on Star Wars Shop to ship out on 30 Sept.  They even have the one with Fett on a dewback, with Bossk tracking a hunt.  With the Jabba the Hutt flag in the background, I'm guessing they're hunting a Krayt Dragon.

Anyway, Celebration was awesome...! I had the pleasure of meeting a few people from the boards here and from the Mando Mercs. The Panels were great, the interview with George Lucas was good, and the exhibition hall was MASSIVE with a full scale TIE interceptor and several other props brought in by the Belgian 501st. It was the best convention I've ever been to.

Wish I could watch the Celebration V...
