Now, when you're viewing a topic, it's easy to see a few things that might help bond the community:
- E-mail (spam-free) and PM (private message) links, plus Web Site if applicable (and typed correctly)
- Post count, plus link to all of your posts (for others to see, too)
- Member location (as entered by the member, not without their permission)
- Member registration date
Does this rock? Or does it blow? Let me know.
Enjoy!

This is a really cool new thing Admin!

I dig it! I think it brings as all together as a community in a more direct way.

One more thing to build the community:
- AIM, MSN, and Yahoo chat buttons next to E-mail and PM, if you choose to enter it there; will become buttons that launch the client
All of these communication preferences are for members only, not visible to guests viewing the boards, and also up to you in the first place for entering them on your profile here.
Enjoy!

Just gonna throw this out there, am I the only one who thinks the 'Location' should be above whatever the user has in there? I'm not badmouthing in any way, just asking if it would look better.
Oh, and Aaron, you are awesome.
*claps at Admin's evil geniusness* :P
I think you made a mistake or something, cause for me, the posts are really screwy now. o.O;
I agree with Revan that the word "location" should be above the, well, location.
I like the idea, but I think it might take some time getting used to it. For short posts, like Cecilia's above me, it stretches the blankness under the post quite a bit. And for smaller avatars it looks a bit weird. But it is really cool to have all these things available right here like that!

my original account was deleted a long time ago
can't believe this one's only been around since '06 :(
Yeah, I've actually been here since 2002 I think, though I lurked before then.

Have you noticed the posts above Fett_II's are small, and written in a gray slightly darker than the background too?

I think the vertical space might be less than before, since I'm wrapping the user info next to the avatar. If it's not wrapping, I'll bet I'm having another IE compatibility problem, which I can quickly fix.
Update: Location now wraps after the user's title and the word "from."
Also: Anyone know when they first visited BFFC? I'll manually back-date your registration to the approximate month and year. Let me know, preferably by message rather than posting here.

Oh, much, much better! I really like it now.

Yeah I've been here since 2000, alas the old boards (RIP) would have said as much :P
I like the new look, funky idea ;)
It was like thousands of voices cried out for a sequel and were suddenly silenced...
I mean it doesnt really matter lol
I remember the multimedia vault site from back in '97
i remember reading about the cease and desist letter when it happened
and i remember being registered here on this site through it's various stages of forums and what not before this most recent version
was probably darinmccoy or wlp_bobafett or something like that.
Hey I don't know if it's just me but when viewing the boards on IE 7 everything is off. Is this to do with the compatibility thing?
The page loads but it says ther is Error on page.
Man, I remember the old boards. I was there quite a few months before the big switch. I don't think I'd been there for a whole year though (I don't think....). I do remember us all feverishly talking about Episode III before its release day. And how dissapointed we were when Boba wasn't in the movie!
Posts are still bizzare. The first post in every topic always has white text. Then the next several are grey against grey, making them impossible to read....then the rest are black against grey. Odd.
Oh I don't have any of those issues. I like it, but I miss Karma actually. I used to feel proud about having any karma at all... now i have none.
"Suggestion: Electrocution works well. Evisceration and Decapitation are also effective, or um, so I've heard."
Everything seems fine on Mozilla Firefox... see it's just bloody Microsoft IE :P

You can turn it back on under Profile > Display.

Gotcha. I'll fix that.

weird.
i don't get anything nasty. if you use firefox, everything formats itself to fit the computer screen and not look extremely wacky. i suggest y'all get firefox 3.0.1 or w/e version it's at now
I have firefox and everything works just fine.
