I don't have a lot of stars but I try to make my postings count. I notice that some folks just chime in on a topic to get a posting point. That's why my posts tend to be long. "Quality over quantity." And in my case there is an inverse proportion between how often I work and how often I post. Lately I post rather often which means I am poor and board. Does this just sound like sour grapes?

Well, it could be considered that your posts have a great quantity, not for how many posts you have, but how much you have in the post. That's not to say that it takes away quality, but it seems you are trying to do both to me.

I kind of assumed that someone was going to pick apart what I wrote and alter its context.
I just want to say that I hope my remarks were not disparaging to any other members. It was not my intention to suggest that others post just for the sake of building up stars while all of my posts are untarnished examples of stellar contribution. Your point about the quantity, referring to the volume of the text I post, is sound and I edit my posts a lot to try to insure that they are concise and coherent. The result of this, I hope, is that my total number of posts are kept to a minimum. I, however, often fail at this.

Seriously good point there, stars are just based on quantity, and have nothing to do with overall quality. I attempt to make my posts have some meaning to them, would be cool if they had a rating thing based on quality as opposed to quantity, which wouldnt give people who post way to much (like me for example) a ton of stars. Quality over quantity is how it should work...but then it would take peoples time to do that.....
