Topic: Anime Banter

This has been all over the net for a while but as usual it hasn't shown up here.
For those of us that have seen the Hellsing anime, or read the manga. The new anime is the exact form of the manga, for example the original didn't have Rip Van Winkle.

I believe it's an ova, direct to DVD instead of showing on Television. Besides that, Khota Hirano started Hellsing: The Dawn it's how Alucard and the butler, forgeting his name for the moment first stopped Millenium

The site says it was posted in July...and that it came out on DVD last December.

Anderson dies sometime after volume 6 though...Ten bucks says they find some estranged way to bring him back to life.

I don't want to give out the plot but, the series is over yet anyway. Maybe he's dead for good or the pull a mortal kombat and bring him back to life ten times over...I don't know yet exactly.
I hope he comes back, but i'm not the artist, the best we could do is attack Khota in the dead of  night in ski masks demanding he bring Anderson back...

Yesss...as I'm sure many fans will do.
Okay, I asked a buddy of mine to get the first episode off the internet this weekend. 
Apparently, there's only one episode currently out, but it's 55? minutes long and has everything on that other site I posted, and more.
The next episode, about the Valentine brothers, comes out in August. 
HeeeHeee....can't wait until he gets it!

Yay, I just saw it today!
The art style is quite different...there's a lot more use of CGI anime rendering, which looks really, really awesome in most scenes, especially whenever Alucard uses his gun.  The Anderson fight is a lot longer than the first, and much, much better.  :D
The story moves pretty fast, and since it follows the magna almost exactly, there is one scene that particullarly annoys me (Seras's dream...) but other than that, it's perfect.  Now I can't wait until August.

Sera's dream is a bit ridicules, however, Alucard also has one. It's just as bad except it's a bit more entertaining for some reason.-Willis
So how's the english dub? I mean, do the characters sound like they look?

Um...unfortunately I could not get the English dub.  It's just Japanese with Engrish subtitiles.  Probably have to wait for the DVD to come out before I can get my hands on that.
Still awesome to watch though. :D I hope you find it somewhere.

Well, It'll eventually get to the U.S. I doubt they could get better ratings doing anything else.

By the way, volume six of Hellsing has the most screen time of Anderson that I've seen so far. I wish I could get a scan from it but the best I can do is read the dialouge.

And thus he procedes to dismember a dozen or so Nazis vampires.

Darn...volume six is the only one my bookstore doesn't have.

I won't be getting volume seven any time soon either though, I need to catch up on my Inuyasha mangas. I'll be broke for a little while as well, I'm getting a naruto mist ninja headband off Ebay hopefully.

Hard to tell exactly what part of the anime that's supposed to be...I'm guessing the second-to-last episode, where the Tower of London is captured by Incognito's vampire-soldiers...

I think, I'm not too sure myself.

Anyway, there's a new member with a Rip Van Winkle avatar, Riya Ciepher, I hope she'll join us in the conversation. There's what, three Hellsing fans.
Draco, Balancesheet, and myself on a regular basis.

Well, a lot of the new members are mostly lurkers...but it would be nice to have our own mini-Hellsing fanclub inside the BFFC. ;)

In the end we could all join a different board for that. Anyway, I'll see if I can find a good board over the next few weeks for that. I just don't think there are going to be a lot of members on this BFFC who have even heard of Hellsing or watched it much less read it any time soon.

Hey, I was wondering if you're a fan of Full Metal Alchemist at all...I'm currently going through the anime as quick as I can, and I think it's pretty good...still not even halfway through yet, though.

Slightly, it was the anime that got me back into the genre. There was this huge gap on Television after Outlaw Star went off the air, all they had was Pokemon and Digimon. I sort of stopped watching anime totally. Tenchi Muyo sort of helped but it didn't make much since to me at the time.
My favorite character is probably Envy, or Hues.

Haven't gotten to Hues yet...I'm on episode 24, though I did go and read the spoilers on wikipedia (which I somewhat regret).  It's fun trying to tell my brother who Pride and Sloth are when he's still on episode 11 and really, really doesn't want me to spoil it. 
Digimon...I used to watch that.  Back when it was "good".  ;)

Fullmetal Alchemist is pretty awesome, even though I have only seen maby ten episodes.

They're going to releash a movie for it soon, I don't know if it's out in Japan yet however.

now that youtube.com has been brought to my attention, episode 1 of Hellsing is available in full format albiet in Japanese. Though the opening song has always been in english.

So you've seen it now? How did you like it?

Yea, now i've seen it instead of read it. Anime quality 9/10 the opening sequnce has one part I'm not fond of. Story accuracy 7/10. Voice dubbing 9/10. I've been using youtube to watch Naruto episodes for a few months though, I didn't even think to look up Hellsing.

Which part bugged you on the opening sequence? 
My favorite bit was the fight with Anderson (of course), and Alucard getting shot to pieces and putting himself together. 
Cursed school proxys...can't get on youtube for anything...:(

the bit where it shows Alucard changing for some reason, where he's a shading. This one doesn't have the Anderson fight, it's the original series episode.

My mom does not want me watching it, what would it be rated?

it's unrated, I'd have to say either T.V.14 or PG. Inuyasha is PG after all.
