Topic: Beginners Mando'a

I know there is a topic for speaking Mando'a allready. And I have the dictionary. But I am no good (meaning horrific) at languages. English has taken me many years to get good at. So I'm hoping that some of you that are way better at Mando'a (as shown in the other topic and in general around the site) might be kind enough to guide the rest in it. I'm not sure how or anything.. but it was an idea and I thought to put it out there.

And a good idea, too.  I'm the same way; English is tough enough for me..............learning something new??  GAAAAAAAAA!!!  BRAIN HURTS!!!

I am interested in trying all things Mando, though, so if there's a 'easy' way, I'm up to try    :)

The other thing I learned from True Colors- "Coppani geroy"  is basicly "Want to play?". That's as far as i've gotten besides the "cursing" which is safe to use around school children (something I am).

I can just curse in german :P

ok i had a translation question.. a user, i can't remember who now sorry, had a phrase using "ash'amur". I cant seem to figure out what it means. Any ideas ( or just know)?

It means to die.  Especially the Mando way, violently in battle.

Ok. It, or any root there of, wasn't in my dictionary. has there been an update?

I can't seem to get the exact link but you should see the Mythosaur skull and just follow the links.  The dictionary was last updated on October 07.  Next update is April 08.

Ah this is where we learn. I'd say the dictionary and grammar guide is a good place to start. What I know and learning is a lot from translation.  Speaking of which... how do you make a word in Mando'a possesive? I thought there was something on the grammar guide but now that I'm looking for it I can't find anything.

Hey people, I posted same message in a topic just like this, but if you want to know a little basic mando'a there is an excellent place called iTunes.  You can go on and get the iTunes store and type in Aruetii ba'jurir dajun in the search box.  I know it's only one podcast, but it's free and it works good for explaining some basic phrases.  Hope this works for you guys  :D

Is that the one where it's Karen Traviss? I have heard her do some Mando'a. I'll still take a look next time I get a chance.

Don't think it is.  It's some guy, but he sounds really good.  Just a shame that there's only one episode.

Ok cool. They could make a whole series.. learning Mando'a a 6 Cd set.
