Hi all, it's currently flooding in my neck of the woods. Luckily we're on high ground, but they're talking about evacuating the area (probably the lower areas) so if you don't hear from me for a while that's why. However that's pretty unlikely.

From drought to flood, can't win hey :P

Well the hubby just got a pager call to assist the SES (he's in the fire brigade), so I'll be stuck on lonesome. I hope he'll be okay and able to get home...

They're always coming and going at this time. Not always full fledged hurricanes though, lots of "tropical storms" which are just very annoying big storms.

The media is making a big deal about the river flooding over here. It's amazing how much panic the media can cause. The river peaked a full metre below last years level. Although there is some flooding going up in Northern British Columbia.
Well we got an update, the water is supposed to peak at midnight tonight (mind you they also said that yesterday). It's supposed to get to 11 metres, but I suspect it'll be higher. It got to 14 metres last night up river. So it'll be interesting. But we should still be high enough to be safe. We'll just be cut off from other towns.

its flooding in parts of western canada too, tho luckily in my city flooding is impossible as every thing is at a slant so it flows down to the river
Well they're now saying the flood is going to peak at 3am. I think I'll got to bed. It's after midnight now.

You live in Western Canada too eh? Pretty cool.
Well flooding is subsiding, though there's still lots of water over the highway. Here's more photos:
