in an article i read on comingsoon.net it discusses shrek 4 and this...
We did manage however to find out a little more about another project called "Shrek the Halls," which is a half-hour Christmas special that will air on ABC. Art director Peter Zaslav told us that while there will be a couple of new characters, it will primarily consist of ones that we are already familiar with.
"We're visiting some old environments and all the core groups of characters. It really integrates seamlessly, I think, with taking place where 'Shrek the Third' left off," Zaslay said.
We couldn't help but ask if it was going to be anything like the "Star Wars Christmas Special."
Zaslay laughed, "Hopefully not, unless it's cult classic kind of status. It's actually going to be on for fifteen years every Christmas. That's the plan. So it has to be visually and story-wise up with all the 'Shrek' films in terms of quality. So far it's looking really good."
i personally think it will suck since shrek was great but the second 1 fell so short and the 3rd i think will bj ustr as bad. what do you people think?

Not much a fan of the 2nd Shrek as well. Although I did like Antonio Banaderas. But let's just say the Christmas Special wasn't Lucas' pride and joy.
Lucas wants to smash every copy with a hammer, that's an actual quote but I'm sure he has some choice words about what he'd actually like to do outside the public eye.
Funny things is, I didn't think George directed the Christmas special in the first place did he?
Anyway, Shrek just reminds me of the xbox game my nephew forced me to play when he was smaller. I was about ready to kill that game so needless to say I'm not too fond of the series. I didn't too much enjoy the movies either if that says anything.

the holiday special is tragic, even the cartoon portion is kinda suspect.
I may have seen it as a small child, thankfully I don't remember, but yeah I hear the Star Wars Christmas Special is a very very bad show.
It was like thousands of voices cried out for a sequel and were suddenly silenced...
i know i've found the swhs in it's entirety before. lemme look around for a day or two and i'll see if i can post a link
The HS is awful. You can find parts of it on youtube, and I think there's a holidayspecial.com (I only think that's the right url, I'm not sure) site, and I'm fairly sure http://www.blueharvest.net has a copy.
As for Shrek, the first was ok, the second wasn't as good, and I have no real opinions on the third. But I think a christmas special will just spread the whole story thinner and thinner. Same thing with pretty much everything, people want more more more and end up spreading plots and characters thinner and thinner till there's just nothing left at all. Could be wrong though, it might turn out pretty good.

i got a bootleg dvd off ebay a year or so ago and it the most horrid thing i have ever watched. Hopefully if shrek is just as bad it can divert some holiday baddies away from sw and onto shrek.

I didn't mind Shrek 2 that much but I think a Shrek 3 is pushing the envelope. One can only take this fractured fairy tale thing so far. As for the Holiday Special, there are only two things I liked about one, I learned more about where Chewbacca came from ( I saw it back in 1978 at age 10) and two, I learned Boba Fett existed. The rest was rather hokie.
they're making a 4th Shrek is what I heard. Besides, what movie doesn't have a christmas special nowadays?
I only liked the episode with Boba.
You mean the portion of the movie with Boba? There was only one Holiday Special.
Was it all animated? I still think Boba was awsome in it. (dispite the poor quality animation and cheezy storyline.)
Only the section wth Boba was animated.
I am still not sure about Shrek. I really did not like it to begin with but now I have got to the point where I can tolerate watching it.
I have seen the Star Wars holiday special and I could not stand watching much of it. I did see the bit with Boba Fett. It is shocking animation but most amusing to watch. (I do think it is amusing that he gets to say more in the short animation than he does in the films that he was in)

I liked Shrek... k, the first one way more than the second. but i did a "dear god why" when I saw the ad for the third in the station last week.
I only saw a clip of the holiday special.... the part with boba in it.... all i remember was the animation being really bad. I don't think I paid much attention to the story... except wasn't chewie in there or something?
I saw on some magazine cover while i was checking out at walgreens a glimpse of shrek and fionas baby...ugly as hell...but what did we really expect?
