Hello fellow Fett fans!
Today I wanted to talk with you about an interesting topic that a BFFC fan asked a few days ago. I thought it was something interesting, so I decided to share my own point of view with a little topic here, on the message boards.
As you may have read in the title, the question is about why Boba uses a poncho.
Well, it's quite clear that a fact is due to the design. Possibly, George Lucas wanted to give to the character a nice touch, and he definitely did it well. But it's also interesting to find other reasons, considering Boba as a character. Why would he use one? Is it really necessary for him?
The first thing that came to my mind, is that it might be useful to conceal his weapon in case he needed it, so he can quickly use it saving some time, since in this situation, time is money.
So, this is mainly the reason I think he uses it. To take advantage of the time he achieves, hiding his weapon or any other tool underneath the poncho.

Boba has always been inspired by The Man with No Name, a man known for his death glares and ponchos. So if there's any answer it's that. Boba has always had western inspirations and his poncho is a clear testament to that.

After watching his first arc in the Clone Wars, I’ve had a thought that his cape thing is the poncho he wore as a kid/in the CW episode. I feel like he kept it for the memories of his first days as a hunter and also for the memories of his friends. Maybe even as a trophy. (A connection to his dad would be very heartwarming.)
