Following the events of AOTC up to the Geonisian arena battle. Instead of dying at the hands of Mace Windu he is only wounded but manages to escape then he and Boba flee to Mandalore

During the events of Attack Of The Clones
Mace Windu stepped down the catacomb toward the balcony. Unseen he quickly ignited his lightsaber holding the blade to Jango Fetts throat.
CD Master Windu. How pleasant of you to join us.
MW This party's over.
CD Brave but foolish my old Jedi friend, you're impossibly outnumbered.
MW I don't think so.
CD We'll see.
Mace could hear the clanking metal of footsteps coming down the very hall he had emerged from. Suddenly Jango ignited his flamethrower directly at the Jedi causing him to leap off the balcony to the ground below.
Jango turned towards Boba.
JF Stay here and keep out of sight.
BF Yes sir.
FAST FORWARD TO WHEN JANGO JOINS THE BATTLE BELOW AND FOR THE SAKE OF SAVING TIME LETS SAY JANGO FETTS JET PACK DIDNT MALFUNCTION
Angry, the Reek turned in Jangos directon and charged. It slammed a battle droid out of its path. As it got closer Jango fired a single shot from his Westar 34 into the beasts head, killing it instantly. Jango then turned to see Mace Windu running toward Jango, lightsaber at the ready. Jango began to fire but the Jedi blocked the bolts, Mace swung his saber directly at Jango, severing his right hand at the wrist. In a flash of first pain, then adrenaline Jango kicked Mace Windu in the chest, sending him to the ground then turned towards the balcony and activates his jet pack.
