I really like this piece. It’s incredibly descriptive and immediately pulls the reader into the scene. The imagery is vivid—from the birdsong waking Yanos to the chaos of the firefight—and the pacing keeps the tension rising throughout. The writing is exciting and immersive, capturing both the emotional weight of the moment and the brutal intensity of the action.

The characters feel alive, especially Yanos, whose hangover and gruff personality provide a strong contrast to the sudden violence. The shift from peaceful morning routine to frantic combat is handled well and makes the attack hit even harder. The combat descriptions are sharp and cinematic, with clear beats and powerful visuals that help the reader follow the action step by step.

Overall, it’s a well-written segment with strong atmosphere, high stakes, and compelling emotional undercurrents. With further development, it could easily serve as an impactful opening chapter or mid-story turning point.
