Got one of those here at the BFFC headquarters. It's a beauty.

Never heard about any fire at the Killian Enterprises studio. It was a printing technique error that messed up a lot of the gold versions. This trivia is supported by the SWCA (http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=24860).
