on her site at http://www.karentraviss.com/html/starwars.htm you will see that in March of 2011 (good grief!) we will have our hands on a new Boba Fett novel written by Ka'buir herself, Karen Traviss. Glad to see she's going to be working on it, even if I'll be 3 years older by the time it gets here lol
no word yet on a title or plot, tho it is reasonable to believe that she will pick up somewhere after the legacy of the force series in the timeline
Topic: Next Karen Traviss Boba Fett novel due March 2011

Sorted by oldest to newestWell that's a fail. As long as I find out what happened to Sev before then I'll be happy. Unless the book is pulled.
2011? Oh, good, there's still time for them to cancel it and tell her the truth: that she's destroying everything we love and should stop.

This is scary alright. I believe I have found out enough about Boba Fett from her version of things. Let's keep the mystery!
It will pick up after LoTF, That I know for a fact. We spoke about it at SDCC, and it should help explain what happened to Fett and the other Fett genome mandos after the nanvirus from "Invincible". Anyone can figure that out though, so other than this we won't know till it gets closer. She'll be at C5, so we may know a little more then.

Wow that is quite a wait.
I must admit that I like how she has written him and I have enjoyed the books that she has written so far.

Yeah, I think she's done him FAIRLY well--if he had no feelings at all, he'd be effective, but little fun to read about at the age he is in LOTF, so giving him some emotion and past at his age, gives him some interest.
And her other stuff is amazing. Plus, I'm more interested in the ImpCom novels than Boba, to be honest.

blasphemer!
lol jk
Sorry...but Boba can't compete with Omega. Or Kal. They're simply too awesome as characters. I am rather interested in what happens to Boba, though. Not being able to be on Manda'yaim will make things awkward, to be plain.

I still prefer Boba (not having read the other RepComm books), but Traviss' way of, forgive the term, "humanizing" Boba kinda strikes me as uncomfortable. I don't like seeing Boba as just a normal guy, albeit slightly different. I preferred the books where he was cold, calculating, and mysterious. Traviss, while doing well in other Mandalorian aspects for the msot part, I don't think is doing fantastic for Boba Fett.

thing is, none of them would exist if not for the cool and calculating nature of mr fett
Oh, I know that--I simply love them more. Cooler characters, not more important. And it's more KT than Boba :P

I can't wait till ImpCom, did she say when that would be out? Although I am interested to learn more about Boba in the future. But, I agree, I like the ToTBH, and Bounty Hunter wars, when he seemed to always have an edge on others. Why? Because he was not afraid to make tough choices, and not afraid of anything, really. He had forced himself to have no emotion.
p.s. this is my first post in months. Just to let people know I am still alive! Hopefully over Christmas break I will have more time to post.
ImpCom starts next year (2009).

I think she said around summer on her site....not positive. Whenever it does, I can't wait.

Since Boba Fetts mystery has ALREADY been tottaly ANNIHILATED by George Lucas (and in part by Karen Tarviss) she might as well keep writeing since the mystery IS gone.
imo shes doing a phenomenal job
Indeed, she is very phenomenal. It's not everyday some fangirl writes a bad fanfiction that somehow turns itself into a book.

I'm with Mccoy here--I'm fine with how she's done Boba, especially because, in the positions she's had to write him, being old, and Mandalore, he would have been a REALLY boring character if he was the way he was in the movies and books. I liked him that way, but as a leader, it would have been dry and boring. This way, he actually has a little color in his personality, making him interesting to read.
And some parts of the other books, Mandalorian Armor and such, I didn't like about his portrayal, especially when he betrayed partners, like Zuckuss, for no reason. I pictured him with more honor than that. Bossk I can understand, as he planned to betray him, but Zuckuss didn't. Didn't like that.
And I love how Kar'buir's (term I picked up from Mando Mercs) done Mando's and Commandos.

there's not an eyeroll smiley
so ill just type that's what i did lol
can't please everyone
That does it. I've got to track down the thread about KT, as this is like the fourth thread this type of thing has come up in.
I'm at a cross road as to what I think of her, having sympathies with both Miba's side and McCoy's. Since everybody seems geared up to debate her impact on Boba and the Mandalorians, lets all do it in an on topic setting. *starts digging for that old-*** thread...*
i look forward to it when ya find it hehe.
i havent read all her republic commando books but i read every one of the legacy of the force books she wrote and her boba fett: practical man story
