Well this happened when Canada had a military. Myself and many others would say World War I gave Canada it's identity.

Funny. but seriously Ypres, Sommes, and Vimy were great wins. Not so much the first two but definitely Vimy. The Canadians did what the French, British, and Australians couldn't. Against huge odds.
