Idk how many of you folks have already heard, or if this is technically the right topic, but today, the director The Empire Strikes Back, easily the best Star Wars film to date (and contender for greatest films of all time), Irvin Kershner, has passed on.

I heard the news from Dane Cook's facebook, oddly enough.
