The storyline for “Star Wars Rebels” takes place at a perfect time for Boba Fett, right before we see him in the first Star Wars: Special Edition. We also have hashtag activism campaign to #BringBackBoba after his unfinished story arc in “The Clone Wars” animated series.

Rebels begins in 5 BBY. The latest season is 2 BBY. The original trilogy begins two years later at what’s called 0 BBY.

This exclusive “Fett Fact Check” is our own repository of what we learn, when we learn it. We’re both logging and analyzing Boba Fett-specific confirmations and rumors — each with date and original attribution. Below are our findings, sorted from newest to oldest:

    The series finale of Star Wars Rebels has officially premiered worldwide. Boba Fett is not in the TV series.

    Star Wars Rebels has been confirmed for a fourth season. As BFFC fan Andrew Lupi (@ALupi15) pointed out on Twitter, the Ghost crew has had a bounty on them since Season 2… Hmm…

  • July 16, 2016

    At Star Wars Celebration Europe, Dave Filoni was just asked if any actors from “The Clone Wars” would come back, like Daniel Logan. Dave found this funny because it’s a clever way to ask if Boba Fett is coming back. His reply included “you never know” and “it’s always a possibility.”

    The official Star Wars website confirms that there will be a third season of the show.

  • October 8, 2015

    During the New York Comic Con, Dave Filoni is asked about Boba Fett appearing in season two. His answer: “Walk round the con for a bit and you will see one.” We reported this on Facebook.

  • October 2, 2015

    During a Star Wars Rebels press conference in Los Angeles today, Dave Filoni is asked about Boba Fett, who confirms that the bounty hunter is not in the upcoming second season of the show. We believe this event was separate from another one we can confirm that same day: an interview between fans and Dave Filoni on Periscope, he was asked if Boba Fett will appear. “Boba Fett? You know, always a possibility but so far, no, no Boba Fett.” We shared a saved copy of the Periscope on Facebook.

  • May 5, 2014

    Photos circulate of Boba Fett included on Hasbro “Star Wars Rebels” packaging. This is later revealed as a “Mission Series” release with a nuance on the packaging that is just promoting the show, not revealing Fett’s role.   • February 17, 2014

    Confirmed at a Disney Consumer Products press conference, a character named Sabine will have a Boba Fett inspired look — that of the Mandalorians. We reported this in “Star Wars Rebels” To Feature Sabine, A Female Mandalorian in Pink Armor.

    Confirming today at New York Comic Con’s “Star Wars Rebels” panel, bounty hunters will be in the show. We reported this in NYCC 2013: “Star Wars Rebels” Will Include “Bounty Hunters”.

    In an official video, Pablo Hidalgo and Dave Filoni discuss concept art, confirming that original Ralph McQuarrie concept art would influence the show. We reported this and speculated on Boba Fett’s own prototype / McQuarrie art in Could Boba Fett’s Prototype Armor Appear In “Rebels?”.
