"True Colors" of Fett, Clone Troopers at bookstores

Published • Written by • Categorized in Collectibles

The third book in the Republic Commando series, based on the LucasArts video game, is Karen Traviss’ latest take on the clone trooper “relatives” of Boba Fett. But fans are split: is all the attention making Fett more human or less interesting?

Boba Fett has been in at least 28 novels/novellas/stories officially licensed by Lucasfilm. This is the third Fett fiction from Traviss: Hard Contact (2004), Triple Zero (2006) and now True Colors (October 31, 2007). A fourth book is already planned, called Order 66 (July 15, 2008).

True Colors is now available where books are sold, including BarnesAndNoble.com, where you can preview the book online.

Our own Sadriel_Fett already got his copy, so you can expect a brief review to come, here or on our message board.

I’ve got mine on order, can’t wait to get it!

I got it today, the German Amazon was pretty quick. 60 pages is, looks cool so far.

Not sure Fett appears in there, tho. I think your question would better apply to Karen’s LotF titles.

As we saw in Attack of the Clones, all of these clone troopers are based on Jango Fett. Here at The Boba Fett Fan Club, we love to make the connection again and again and again.

By making the clone troopers look more and more like Boba Fett, it’s attention back to the source.

Oh, okay, thanks for the explanation, I get where you’re coming from there. ;)

I don’t think that Boba gets less interesting the lmore we read about Clones. I will never truly regard him as a clone, rather as the son Jango wanted him to be, so for me personally, the connection between clones and Boba is minimal. But that doesn’t mean that you don’t have a point, of course.

I got my copy yesterday! I’m only about 20 pages in, but I’m loving it so far. I’m with Corran–Boba will never get less interesting for me no matter what info is put out about the clones. I don’t see him as a clone like the others as he didn’t have all the modifications they did. He’s unique (well,as unique as an unmodified clone can be lol).

Just finished it last night! Great book! Very exciting. I love Omega Squad and the Nulls but I am very attatched to Vau’s boys, Delta Squad. I just wish they were in the book more and had more of their percpectives (Sp?) rather then just Sev’s. I’m not complaining, I’m glad they’re in the story line. I’m just waiting for the next book. It ought to be interesting with what will happen to Etain, seeing as how she’s still in the order. It’s sh#@y that that’s the last book in that series by Traviss.
