Topic: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Hi everybody!  Well I was watching the the SW movies 1-6 and I noticed that the Fett's dont have as much action as the should.  So I want to hear YOUR opinion on if u think the FEtt's should've had more action.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Boba definately should have, all he realy did was stand around and show off his armor.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Yeah Boba should have a larger part or  at least a good fight sequence. The problem for us Fett fans is that the movies aren't really about them, but about the Skywalkers.

yeah i agree with both of u guys.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Jango should have had a much better end.  As it was shot, I don't even understand what he was trying to do.  One minute he's standing guard over Dooku, the next he's flying down into the craziest battle since Pearl Harbor!  Did he have a personal grudge against Mace??  He acted like he was out to get him in particuar

The acion scene with Obi Wan was pretty good, though a lot of that stuff was so far out that I almost laugh everytime I see it:

Ben should have been killed like five times in that scene:

1. Jango's using of 2 blasters should have made short work of him (can't block 2 bolts with 1 saber forever)

2. Slave I's ship-to-ship cannons should have killed him (they DID blow him several feet across the landing pad, yet he jumps up like he's fine; only in the movies. . . )

3. Jango uses a high explosive rocket that lands right next to him and knocks him around even more (how close does that thing need to hit, anyway??  down his throat for any real affect??)

4.  When he's falling over the edge of the platform and grabs the wire with his bare hands. . .  Yeah right; would have sliced right through his fingers and he'd have probably drowned (you can't grab somthing that thin and stop a total free-fall, unless he has the grip of a vice. . .  maybe)

I know there's more, but can't think of them just this second.

With Boba, I really don't know.  Yeah it would be great to see him really putting it on the line; but would it have looked convincing back in the old movies?  They had trouble just keeping his knee guards on in the shots of him they had!  And look at what the script writters did to Jango; totally ruind him for us Mando fans.

Might be better for Boba as it was shot.  Let everyone know his reputation, and let us fill in the blanks

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Well, Boba could have done a lot more... But they would have to make new movies for that, because Star Wars is mostly the dark side and the light side, and the bounty hunters don't belong to any side.

Everyone should check out this movie. Too bad only chapter 1's ready.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Some do; but you're right with Boba

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

I would.ve liked to have seen more of the Fetts but then again Star Wars isn't focused on them it make for a very different movie.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

I think the movies could have showed a bit more of Fett's craftiness and incredible intelligence...some of it was shown just cause he was a quiet observer and you could see the wheels turning, but... Action-yes, more would be cool

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Maybe we'll see Boba in the T.V. series that was supposed to come out this year, and maybe we'll get our action.

Regardless, I like my movie Boba the way he is. If you want action, read a comic book. That's just me.

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize that one reason I like Fett so much is that he's mysterious and you see him just enough to want more and wonder who the heck he is... too much action could kill that visual and an overload of action would hurt the character by letting us know too much about Fett... Anyone agree? Just a thought...

I do.  Leave Boba to our imaginations; don't let the Lucus and/or thwritters ruin him like Jango

Damn the Writters!!!   *oh yeah; I'm sort of a writter. . . . . .*  Damn the BAD writters that ruin the Fetts!!!!!

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Well, in hindsight of course he should have had much more screentime. But think about this. We are all massive fans of Boba Fett as opposed to Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, The Emperor... all these characters had all the screen-time, yet here we are geeking out about a character with barely 2 minutes on the screen. If Fett was the lead character from the start would we still class him as our faviourite, or would we have found that other character, that background character that was only seen for a little bit but we wanted to know more and more about?

As seen on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/BobaFettGuru or http://www.youtube.com/welcomestranger

Good point

I think we would; depending on whether or not the writers butchered him.  He would still be different from those other characters:

still not a badguy/goodguy, but the guy in the middle doing his own thing
still would have the GREAT armor that really got our attention
still gets Han in Ep. VI (though the ‘more action’ part would probably be here; letting Boba take Han single handedly; which would be SWEET!!!)
*I know there’s more; but can’t think of it right now*

But giving him more face *mask* time WOULD change him.  For good or bad?  That would depend more on what he’s doing rather then just how much time he gets.  For sure I don’t want them to tell us TOO much about him *unless they interpret him just like I do big_smile *   The mysterious part is what allows so many fans; he can be seen as so many things depending on how we interpret his character.  As he is, he can be most anything to anybody, depending on what you saw and what you like; and that is such a good thing.

More action wouldn’t ruin that.  It’s his mysterious side that shouldn’t be changed

I can see what you're saying. I agree with Sharpy though, another reason why I'm a Fett fan is because he is somewhat of a background character and I always tend to be intrigued by them often more than the main characters because you know so little about him. Thats sorta why I joined up on here...to find out more about Fett. If he had more screen time then I think that its possible that there wouldn't be as many people on here. Granted Fett is an interesting character in and of himself...so maybe there would be...idk.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

I'm sure this has been beaten to death, but
It was ridiculous how a blind man almost killed the best hunter in the galaxy
And of course Jango should have won, but Obi-Wan is a bit of a plot point

Life is complex-It has both real and imaginary components.

Attack of the clones was almost only about Jango. though I think Boba should of had alot more action.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

I think they should've had more action, yes.  They're the coolest characters, and they get like, minimal screen time.  And they both get killed via deux es machina.....It's frustrating to say the least.

Due to maintenance problems, the light at the end of the tunnel will not be in operation today.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

Let's face it, the Fetts are just minor characters in the movies (whether we like it or not), so any additional screen time would have take focus of the main characters.
Although, it would have been nice if they had elaborated more on the "sail barge fight scene" in ROTJ, Boba was probably at his worst during that scene and really deserves more justice then being hit by a blind man wagging a stick.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

That is very true, but its because of that sail barge fight that my bf's favorite line is from. He's always says "Boba Fett?!" like Han Solo whenever I mention him.

LOL, Si Titran, I would find that so annoying after a while! xD

Ah Its not so bad, he means it in a good way and not mocking. Other wise that would be a pain. Plus we don't get to see each other enough for anything to be annoying.

Re: Do you think the Fett's should've had more action?

To be honest though, there are a lot of minor characters in Star Wars who later had their parts extended by various writers via novels. I loved the 'Tales' books that gave us a deeper insight into a lot of characters who stood in the background or had minimal parts like Oola (Twi'lek dancing girl at Jabba's that gets fed to the rancor).

I must admit that it was the extended universe Boba that got me intrigued. I was looking for a copy of Shadows of the Empire and found the Mandalorian Armour instead. From there I was hooked. But then I think there was so much writers could do with Boba while Luke, Leia, Han etc were already well characterised from the movies. I think that's the thing with Boba, he can be exactly what you want him to be.
