true, i neglected to point out that that is only the majority of women in my experience and that not all women fit that general 'rule'
oh and my record is now up to 0-38

A record? Gotta wonder why these women are "making the majority of your experience". If you think all women around you are the same, gotta wonder what they have in common, else than... you.

other than female body parts not much

I'm not talking about the normal politeness, although things like opening doors and such is appreciated.

Call me old school but that stuff to me is something that I make a habit to do.  From the places I've been I have noticed a few things.  This old lady was walking into a store and some guy dashed in front of her and didn't even hold the door in front of her.  So she nearly smashed right into it.  Personally that kind of stuff disgusts me.  It's as simple as taking a few seconds of your time to hold the door open.  Even just a extra shove as you are walking by helps. It seems the generation we are living in is the "me" generation.  It's these things that may appear small but really in the long run help out quite a bit.

I'm not stubborn tongue  No, I'm really not stubborn, but I can do things for myself and some guys just insist on helping me, which annoys me a bit because I can do things for myself.  I always catch myself after these moments of independance but by then, it's to late and it's hard for me to change that streak of independance.

well there are some things a polite guy might get flustered by, like opening doors

There is a difference between an independent women and a stubborn women.

Yes. Independent meaning willing to take responsiblity for what and who are in their life, as apossed to stubborn which means unwilling to compromise and see other points of view. No one should want to be stubborn.

well there are some things that are good to be stubborn about

I think I have the same problem Si, almost all the guys I like are really good friends of mine, and I'm pretty independent so sometimes I think they get scared of that.  I don't really have many guy friends to be direct with, so I'm pretty much stuck

if a guy is afraid of an independent woman, there is something wrong with his head wink

terra's approach worked for me. It didn't hurt that we're both upfront people and he just told me that he wanted to kiss me. At first I didn't think he ment a relationship, and not just a kiss, so when he went to hold my hand on the way home from the party I was surprised.

see that approach gets me into the friend zone

Sorry to hear that. But i do think it is a good idea to be friends first. I just don't always know how to make it more. That's why i'm direct and like guys who are the same.

see thats my problem, i never take advantage of a person, but i try and take advantage of the situation... which gets difficult to do since the two seem to commonly overlap so often

isnt that what they expect guys to do?

Yes and no. You can always set a gang outing at first, so it's not all that obvious, and try to hang out particularly with that one person during the outing. Might be a way to get to know that person better, and see if there's any way you can get his/her atttention (other than friendly).

It's nice to see a guy who doesn't want to take advantage of a girl like that, most guys I know would have, although she does sound a bit off, not wanting to break up with the guy until she knows she can just switch to another guy.  Anyhow, I think I'm gonna give the whole BF situation a break, considering the guy that I was interested in, just asked my close friend out sad  Oh well, glad to see that there are other happy couples/marriages here on the BFFC smile

he is from a series of the forgotten realms books put out by wizards of the coast, and the overall series is called the Legend of Drizzt, at the moment there are around 28 books at the moment, another trilogy on the way, the first book of said trilogy came out around october.  but its a really good series.
and Drizzt is a Drow elf, but hes a good guy

I never thought about Drizzt... Thats a good one. But yeah, those books are great. I think Salvatore gets ripped too much for the Chewie thing though. Someone had to die, and honestly, i love chewie but, better him than Solo.

In the last of the NJO series in the paperback version they had a Q&A with the authors and Salvatore said that Lucas told them not to kill any character from the movies jacen jaina or mara, and salvatore something like "Someone had to die so we decided on the family dog"

and Gerard Butler seems to be becoming the newest action hero, because he was in a movie called beowulf and grendle ((cant spell the monsters name sorry)
