Topic: The "war" in the middle-east, is it winnable?

I have been hearing on the news and other places that certain politicians think that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan is unwinnable...

What do you guys think...

Re: The "war" in the middle-east, is it winnable?

I think I'm not even sure why we're at war with them? I kinda lost track in the last 9 years or so we've been at it...

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Re: The "war" in the middle-east, is it winnable?

what you're thinking isn't at all new. in the U.S.'s past wars ( i.e. civil war, WW II, etc.) as year after year dragged on with more and more loss, a lot of people weren't sure we'd win. But each and  every time we won out and came back better and stronger than before. is the war in the middle east winnable? of course it is.

oh!why'd ya slice of mah hand?!

Re: The "war" in the middle-east, is it winnable?

hurm, i am pretty sure that a ceasefire to end the war in iraq was signed a year ago.

It really isn't a war. War involves invasions and frankly the little occupation we have in those countries isn't an invasion.

In war people die, innocent people, civilians, men, women, children, I'm sorry but that what happens when countries shoot guns at each other. The reason why nobody likes war is because people die.

If I were in command, I would have already launched a full scale invasion of these countries and killed the people who shot at us and were dumb enough to run into the cross-fire. If the United States would let the men and women of the military do their jobs and keep the heck out of the military's business, we would be a lot better off. Heck you can't shot a guy over there now with out it being televised.

These terrorist would be wiped out in a couple of month at least if we just when in and killed anybody who had a connection with them.

Ask yourself this: Who do you want to die, your son or the idiot who has an AK-47 and a towel on his head? Its them or us and it seems that we are caring a little too much about them and not enough about us.

This is the time when self preservation should be encouraged! When our country is at war with another. Not in the frickin senate when our economy is hanging by a thread.

We are worrying about the same idiots who drove frickin airplanes in to our buildings in New York, killing hundreds of our people, and we are worried about their sorry tails?

THEY KILLED OUR PEOPLE!!! Why should we care what happens to theirs?

I know what yall are about to say...

We are America, we are suppose to be nice and caring. We should be better than them.

Did I not mention 9/11? Do you know how many families suffered because of that? And sense this "war" has been going on do you know how many families have been screwed up because of their sorry tails?

At this rate, how we are playing the game know, no we will not win over there. But if we man up and become the country we were in the 40's again, we would completely kill those rag heads.

Another thing.

Why do we televise what the military is going to do next? Do you people not think that there are spies in the country working for them. Heck those Russian spys that just got caught, did anyone suspect them? What makes you think that they don't have the same thing going on for them. We don't need to know what the military leaders decided on during their last staff meeting because its none of our sorry civilian business. The only thing we need to know is when our boy and girls are coming home and if we won. Kick the media out of the military.

War is hell.

dude, that was just righteous. You're "rant" was a breath of fresh air in the midst of the crap flying around all over the place. Thanx for keeping it real. +1 Karma point!

Re: The "war" in the middle-east, is it winnable?

Just to clear some things up:

1. BFFC isn't the place for political discussion.

2. No need to put quotes around war. It's a real war.

3. Iraq has no connection to 9/11. This was announced in 2004 through a commission independent of presidential rhetoric: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/ar … Jun16.html

4. Thank goodness the war is televised. The mainstream media certainly isn't revealing current or upcoming plans or locations. When you say "you can't shot a guy over there now with out it being televised," I hope you're talking about enemy combatants and not just any civilian collateral.

And may we all be informed about the facts as we form our own opinions.
