Gee, I drop out of site for a few weeks and I miss all the good stuff.  More proof that working for a living sucks, and doing fun stuff with your free time doesn't.

I don't know if it's official, but I assume Draco's referring to the fact that Boba was the leader of the new Mandalorian Army he'd created in Star Wars Tales and NJO.  I think that would technically make him a Mandalore, right?

Re: Fett's Past

In that one Insider with the article on Mandalorians (the one before the more recent one) it said that Boba was indeed Mandalore, as was Jango at one point.

Reality doesn't care if you believe in it.

Hmmmmmm.... After the whole thing the insider wrote on Boba Fett's girl and wife(which i don't believe is true), I don't find insider as the most reliable source for info. Nothing against you Miba, i've just had some trouble with the Insider thing....

I think it's in one of Karen Travis's books.  Not sure if it's one that's out, or coming out.  I think it's one that's coming out.

Kind of weird, isn't it?  Old loner Boba suddenly turning into a leader on a major scale?  Not that he couldn't successfully do anything he turned his talented and deadly had to...just that  I can more picture him a lone commando of the apocolypse, or a leader of a team of black ops best of the best types.  The whole Mandalor thing, as in "Why yes, I AM THE MANDALORE" just doesn't add up.  Lately I'm having trouble reconciling many things.   This happened to me just after the second release of  Empire.  Suddenly there was this proliferation of material, and some of it didn't jibe, and some of it seemed to take away the mystery.   Now I can't decide if I like that there is all this info, or, if it's kind of too much.

No, I understand, I was upset about the Aiylen thing too, especially since newbs will read it and then spam us with "Wasn't Boba's wife and kid so cool?" type things. But I think some of the other aspects of the Insider article/s were correct.

Re: Fett's Past

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever even heard another fan that likes the Aylin and Sintas Vel crapola?

It's total tripe.  Everytime I read that posting from the man who came up with poor single mom Sintas and how her man Boba 'dun walked out on her', first I want to puke, then I want to do bad bad things to him for promoting such trash.

(Then, as a Fett fan, I think:  okay, let's say we entertain for a  moment he hooked up with your nappy self Sintas and you spawned:  what did you do to cause someone with unflexible ethics to back out on his word and jet?  Was the kid his, or did you find yourself a replacement clone to pass the time while daddy'o was out on the hunt? If he hated her, he'd take his kid because we all know Fett "Takes care of what is his."  So I bet she shacked up with someone else and the kid's not his. Or, she  tried to sell him down the river for a bag of magic beans.  They're the only reasons I can come up with that adds up.  Being Type A, I need things to add up. )

I don't think I've ever seen anyone who's accepting of it, let alone all warm and fuzzy about it.  But, I have a sheltered life.

So, anyone else seen positive feedback on that bit of fantasy?

Re: Fett's Past

I remember Sintas being in an issue of Star Wars Tales with Fett, but I assumed them having a Baby was not part of "Kosher" Star Wars continuity.

IS this Story in any other Star Wars stuff?
Novels?Comics? Video Games?

Re: Fett's Past

Sintas was only in that one comic, and so was the baby. As far as I know they are never seen ever again. And Tales is something of a non-canon comic series anyway.

Re: Fett's Past

so you are saying that you think they are correct in putting them in the comic? I know i think they should have never existed...i think Boba would agree with me.

Re: Fett's Past

But after they were in the comic, they were discussed in Star Wars Insider and then put into Wookieepedia as official, canon information.  And isn't there a lot of stuff in Tales that is now considered canon?  (For example, the last story in the All-Fett Issue).

Re: Fett's Past

There are some canon Tales comics, but then there's some that are obviously non-canon.

And wikis lie. The official wiki's Boba entry was so awful and wrong and full of lies and mis-information that I refused to ever go to that site again. And I heard someone else here complain about Wookieepedia.

And Insider's article was probably just discussing the Vels as a "what if" type of thing, or just discussing galaxy rumor. And we all know how things get spread around. You can say, "I fell down." and half a year later someone will ask, "So are you ok? I heard you got attacked and viciously thrown to the ground while gunmen were shooting all around you. Hey, they said you lost your leg in the attack, but I see you still have it...." So who's Insider to seperate fact from fiction? wink

Was the Nomad story in the last 4 issues of Tales canon?
I loved that story...

Re: Fett's Past

I think all of the new ones are canon. Miba, can you list some of the lies?

take it easy baby take it as it comes

Re: Fett's Past

Wait, lies as in stories that aren't canon or lies as in wiki lies?

For wiki, it'd be that: Boba has five Slave Is? Since when? Wait a moment, Boba was born a year or two before Jango even meets Tyranus or goes to Kamino? How is that possible? And then something about a weapon I know he doesn't even own. And I can't remember what else, it was a very long time ago. They might have changed since then, but I don't know. And they sometimes speak of fake things as being real, like they had an entry for some ghost creature and gave all sorts of information on it and the stupid things don't exist. It said people can see them out of the corner of their eyes and then when they turn their heads the creatures are gone. But, obviously, when you see something out of the corner of your eye, it's probably just a stray strand of hair, I get it all the time. And some people just don't see well in the corners anyway so their vision is blurry and therefore sometimes looks like something's moving when it's not. No reason for them to create a bunch of lies. And their Mace entry boasted him as being the greatest, most powerful, most cool Jedi of all time, better than Yoda and Obi and Ani when he was a Jedi and Qui-Gon and, hell, best Jedi ever, no question, did we mention his absolute God-Power?

As for Tales, yeah, I think a lot of the newer ones are canon. But some of the older ones aren't. And then there's some that obviously aren't. (skippy the jedi droid, I think was one? One with Mace and Yoda eating at a fast food resteraunt and all this weird stuff happening, Vader vs Maul, and a few others)

And, I'm sorry if I seem mad or weird or anything, it's almost 90 degrees out, and I start feeling horrid after it hits 70. Even 60 is sometimes pushing it. So I get mad really easily during summer.

Wow, I wonder if Samuel L. Jackson wrote that one himself.  wink  But hey, that's nothing; last time I checked, the Wikipedia article on the Pope starts out "The Pope is an extraterrestrial who wants to conquer humanity..." and then goes into descriptions of his role in the Catholic Church.  That's what happens when anybody can edit encyclopedia articles.
