Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

I always thought that he would use his real face as a kind of mask.  How to explain....most super heroes, Superman for example, have two identities.  That of Clark Kent and Superman.  Everyone knows Superman, but most people think of Clark Kent as the man and Superman as the alter ego.  Fett is different, he doesn't have two different identities, he's just Boba Fett, which comes with the mask and all.  So if he wants to go out and have a beer or whatnot, all he has to do is put on his alter-ego, his real face.  Does this make sense?

And I don't think he looks like the clones either, I'm not sure how cloning works, but I always thought that gene traits would play different parts in an 'unaltered,' clone, but I'm most likely a hundred percent wrong on that...

i think he uses the faceless helmet as part of his mystique.like judge dredd in 2000ad.he wears it at work and when hes at home or on his ship he just relaxes and takes it off.i wonder where home is to Boba Fett.

SF is what life is all about.

Slave 1 is his home.

In my fics Fett has two faces: one is the helmet, the hunter, the Angel of Death. The other is the face of the man, the morals, the weaknesses, and everything he doesn't want the galaxy to see. But Fett never sees things this way. To him, he's all one person. And why do I portray him like this? Because it seems to be how he functions. He lets everyone see how scary he is, but it takes a bit of digging to figure out just how the gears in his head work.

As for unmasking Fett, I have the ultimate answer to what he look like! I know how to de-age people in Photoshop, you see. I took a picture of Jango Fett, changed his armor color, and took away all the wrinkles and scars and voila: Boba Fett, 20-odd years old. I'll see if I can figure out how to post it if anyone's interested. Then again, some people just want to wonder.

I would like to see that big_smile

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

Eh, I don't think Bloodlines treated the topic very well.  It makes sense for him to use his face as a disguise, but as for all the times he took off his helmet in front of Mirta, that was too much.  Every once in a while, I can understand.  But in Bloodlines, it seemed like he couldn't wait to get it off, and removed it whenever he had the opportunity.  Almost like he was showing off that he had a real face under there.

Thats just Boba getting senile tongue . While it was stratagetic, it seemed dishonerable to himself.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

he dosent show Dengar in the bounty hunter wars books but Dengar sees what it looks like, when he finds Fett after Fett blew up the sarlac . But I agree he probably belives that there nothing special to his normal face, a face is just a face its easy to forget but everyone remembers what his helmet looks like and it inspires fear.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

In Boba Fett; Pursuit, Boba chooses not to wear his helment when he lands on a small moon after escaping General Grevious. He leaves it in Slave one when he goes out to talk to Anakin about his ship.

Also There was a Clone that Thought Boba was just another Trooper like him.

I can't remember if it was tale's of the Bounty Hunter's or Jabba's Palace but when Jabba gave Fett Leia for a night didn't he take his helmet off for a while when she asked why he hated Han so much, or did he leave it on and just answer her.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

No he kept it on.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

He goes out in public without his helmet in Bloodlines and unmasks in front of Han and Leia in the same book, but in front of Han and Leia it's in a locked apartment and when he goes out in public, he's disguised and not wearing anything Mando.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

Wasn't he also unmasked on Dagobah when he ran into Tash and Zak in the cannibal's camp?  Like he was in the cell with Zak, and asked him for his armor?  But he wouldn't step into the light until Zak handed him his helmet, though.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

I think that I read that somewhere, but that series is non-canon.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

I have always agreed with the notion that Boba would use his "real face" as a disguise in public.  He would become just another face in the crowd, be it a clone face or not.  smile

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

I don't think, if anyone even remembered a clone's face, would recognize him as a clone because of some of the scars which he possesses.  I believe his face was horribly scarred during the Sarlacc incident.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

He's also unmasked (and un armored, and going by the name of Hurn) in Unifying Force when Han and Leia first meet him and the Mando warriors. Han sort of reconizes the voice but not the face,so when he asks Fett if they ever met or if they knew each other....

Fett states, "I've one of those faces that used to appear familiar to everyone."

Leia later asks Han, "Did he mean 'familiar' before the Rebellion, or before all the scars?"

So he's definately got scars, and uses his own face as a disguise. But I seriously doubt he would be reconized as a clone, most would be dead of old age or battle by the time Fett is in his prime.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

what do you think the chances are that when he's all alone, boba puts the slave 1 on auto pilot and sits around in his boxers listening to the star wars equivilant of air supply?  just to relax.  especially on laundry day, that jump suit has got to stink after a while.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

The suit would stink, but I doubt that he would really unmask.  His helmet IS his face, and he is totally absorbed by his work.  And I mean TOTALLY.

Re: Fett Unmasked - Would Boba Fett really unmask?

I don't think he would unmask not in public anyway. The mask is his public personna if you will. By the way, he probably has extra suits so he is not sitting aroud Slave I in his boxers on laundry day. (If he observes a laundry day even)

Yeah.  Man, I'm so slow.  I had never thought about a spare suit.
