Topic: Yoda different for re-release

so yes we all know yoda has three different faces...to most the one we all know an dlove from episode 5 and 6. then their is the rocking kick@%$ one from 2 and 3...then their is the "MACE WINDU pass me my crack pipe you will" yoda from episode 1. now many of us have a problem with the sheer fact lucas changed voices on the special editions and it is said that when the rerelease of all 6 in a bundle pack yoda from episode 1 will be re-done to match 2 and 3...well i am warm and welcome to this change for the fact he does look like a major druggie...but also i think his voice is majorly different from epi. 1 and epi.2 and yes i take into consideration the 10 years difference but i think this change will be much better and more accepted in the SW community then the special edition voice changes and some add-on's. anyone else think this is way more for the better?

Re: Yoda different for re-release

I really don't mind voice changes. I didn't mind the Boba Fett voice change and i don't mind Yoda changing, either. You are right though. Yoda looked like a druggy.

I don't mind if it's just the prequals. That's what you're saying right?

Yeah bascially because the originals were classics no need to change them.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

I agree with this change, but not many of the others. The Yoda in TPM looked fake. If you watch "Within a Minute" on the 2nd ROTS dvd disc you can see a shot of Yoda in TPM and he's redone and it looks wonderful. big_smile (at least I think it was within a minute, I could be mistaken, but I know it was on the ROTS 2nd disc)

Re: Yoda different for re-release

Wow! You people are really observant. I didn't notice that Yoda was different from movie to movie.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

i saw that too made me vrey excited and i mean this very not meanly Sharra but you need your eyes fixed if you didn't notice the difference from episode 1 to 2

Either that or I seriously need to see those movies a second or third time.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

Who thinks that? well they are pretty close, but not the "same" person. i always get " identify confused" though when i play Battlefront2 and i keep changing my mind on who I wanna use, Jango or Boba.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

i havent played jango on bf2 in a while doesnt he have dual blasters to boba's rifle? so it would be  a tough choice.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

I'm gonna get shot for this, but I think Ep. 1 Yoda is so much better than Ep. 2 and 3.  It's just not the same unless he's a puppet.  Muppets are cute and cuddly and loveable, but CG Yoda is just a computer picture.  I have no emotional connection with it.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

Oh wow. That's the first I've heard of that. Thanks, dude. Episode 1's the only DVD I'm missing so I might as well wait for the other one. .

..wait... what else is he planning on doing?

Re: Yoda different for re-release

Apparently the consensus is that the puppet in TPM looks horrible in comparison to the one used in ESB and ROTJ.

I'll have to watch Episode 1 more closely.

It's Funny because Yoda IS a muppet. Fozzie Bear he is =P. But seriously, I find no problems with the current voices as I love Frank Oz's work. I would normally have a say about the change, but I've learned to just bottle up my hatred for George Lucas's mind and put it all into trash talk on X-box live.

"That's right I blew you up with that rocket!! And Greedo shot first!!"

But about the CGI vs puppet, why not leave it? The movies are meant to be from different time periods. Why change a puppet to CGI when it was fine the first time? Anyone who complains about such a problem has way too much time on their hands, and needs to live up to. Leave Yoda alone or Frank Oz will be forced to use his qizardly powers.

Good... Bad... I'm the one with the gun.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

i would say leave him alone to but he doesnt look consistent from 1 to 2 or atleast 1 to 5. yoda looks crazy in 5 not cracked on withdrawal.

Re: Yoda different for re-release

I like how in Ep. 5 Yoda's eyes don't always seem to match up.  He's kind of scary at times.  And yes, although I prefer puppets to CG, I do agree that the PM puppet looks like he's on drugs.  And I strongly dislike his little tufts of white hair.
