  • 1979: first action figure of Boba Fett, on an "A New Hope" card


  • 1980: first film appearance of Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back
  • 1980: "rocket firing" action figure, with "j"-slot, promoted and never delivered
  • 1981: action figure vehicle, Slave I, advertised on television
  • 1983: first reference to the Mandalorians in Marvel Comics Star Wars #68
  • May 25, 1983: premiere of Return of the Jedi, featuring Boba Fett, who eventually falls into the Sarlacc Pit
