Originally aired on November 17, 1978, Boba Fett first appeared in an animated cartoon. The Star Wars Holiday Special is a Smith-Hemion Production by Nelvana Studios.

The Boba Fett Fan Club was contacted by John Celestri in 2005 with a rare collection to show. He worked on the Holiday Special, as the figure model for the animators. He kept "many rough animation pencil drawings in my files, which the cleaned up artwork was created, then xeroxed onto acitate cels and then hand painted and shot on 35mm film stock." Above, you can see an example of a sketch that became a frame.
