Have you noticed the posts above Fett_II's are small, and written in a gray slightly darker than the background too?

Don't you know what nuclear weapons DO?! Nuclear fallout does not just stay in one country. It does not stop at the boarders. Radiation will travel a very long way. Not only will it affect nearby countries, it will affect countries a long ways away. People will get cancer. CANCER IS BAD. Didn't you ever hear of Cherbonyl? Radiation traveled from eastern Europe in what is now Ukraine all the way to Canada. Imagine what multiple nuclear attacks will do? And modern nuclear weapons made during the Cold War are FAR more potent then the ones dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The people who don't die immediatly in the blast, will die of radiation poisoning shortly afterwards. Those who don't die of radiation poisoning will get cancer, which is BAD. Not only will human life loss will be substantial, ALL animals in the affected areas will die for the same reasons as well. And plants! And the water? Contanomated? And where do the two major rivers in Iraq eventually end up? Thats right, the ocean. Ocean life will be affected as well. And the people who don't die from cancer or radiations? They will be out for our blood. You think the world hates us now? Drop some nukes and see what people say about us after that. THAT is why you are sick.

I don't think he quite grasped the whole concept. What would be sick was if someone knew that and said that everything that suffers deserves it. A misunderstanding (or lack of understanding) should not be filed as "sick".

Have people actually died for scientology? (I've never heard if someone has or not.) Was it fighting for what they believe, or in a religous war?

I've only seen bits and pieces of it, so I can't give a full view critique, but what I saw wasn't as bad as people make it out to be.

How am I sick? If we automatically killed every terrorist there it would have the same effect! Like I said...IF THE CIVILIANS WERE OUT OF THE WAY.

Killing all the Terrorists in one area might make them martyrs to terrorists in other places. It's not wise to have bombing an entire country or area to the ground as a first resort.

@Val: If people are so ignorant, wouldn't that make theories invalid? People would believe everything told to them? People would quit believing what they truly believe for something else? Or are you claiming that only those who have faith in Christianity are the ones who are ignorant?
Once more, I am not trying to make you angry.

Not trying to make you upset Val (sorry if I am), but I interpret it as not worshiping other Gods, and besides, that is the Old Testament. The New Testament states that faith is choice. (I think) I'll look it up.

Seco, calm down. We don't need to be trying to convert everyone here. In fact, faith is choice.
Val, the first commandment is different. I don't remember it exactly, but that's not it. I believe that God gave us the right to choose, so don't be trying to force your beliefs on others Seco.

I've heard its going to be gradual, but I have a bad feeling about it. We're basically leaving ourselves open to an attack, and that isn't good.

Not either way, I didn't know/remember. Just responding to you saying that it wasn't proveable, as thats a common point in discussions like this. Sorry for the confusion.

The point I was trying to make was he isn't disproveable.

hah, yeah, definitely stay away from 4Kids. i watched a Japanese sub of Pokemon: The Movie.

i can never watch the US dub ever again.

not only that, but the original shows are made for a Japanese person's mindset. over there in Japan, it's nothing uncommon to see drugs or sex or extreme violence in the real world, so they figure that incorporating it in their tv shows makes it seem more realistic.

What exactly did the Jap sub entail?

Addressing both proof and truth--no, we cannot offer "scientific proof" that proves beyond the shadow of a doubt for ANYONE that God exists. But rationally, it makes a lot more sense than, as a background I once saw, "There was nothing....and then nothing exploded, and made everything".

Admittedly, there have been a lot of "Christians" that committed atrocious acts. But Christian organizations are often the first to aid or care for disaster victims. Some of the largest aid organizations are Christian-run (ie, Samaritans Purse, etc).

True, it is belief. But it is a belief with a backing far greater than arbitrary belief and hope that God likes you enough to tell Peter to open up. Its a belief that God loves everyone enough to send his Son, and by extension, part of himself, to die. Its about love, and a gift. Thats it. It is entirely separate from the groups that have committed crimes, and also the groups that have shown great love. Because what really matters is you and God.

Nothing else. There are hundreds of supernatural healings that have occurred, that no science can explain. Most of creation science can't fully explain.

I hate trying to explain it, because its never enough. And I'm far from the most knowledgeable as far as defending Christianity goes. I very well may have made things worse, which wasn't my intention. But to me, believing in a God YOU ascribe properties to, and who has no conditions or boundaries, makes no sense. I had to respond to that.

Were you saying I am not a Christian (I'm not angry, just trying to understand your post). I was trying to make a point to Atheists (not convert) that you cannot disprove God.

Christians tried to prove the existence of God and failed. Atheists tried to disprove God and met a similar failure.
You cannot prove him, yet you cannot entirely disprove him either.

DBZ is the only Japanese show I like.

And I find it to be great that they're making a movie. I've been keeping tabs on it for quite some time, and I saw the trailer in the movie theater just the other day.

Hmph, I LOVE Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Thats why its so thoroughly depressing to actually see the live action movie coming together.... Especially since they're hardly sticking with the source materials. The only "good" thing I can say about this is, at least its not a Dragonball Z movie. I never EVER want to see a guy in front of a camera with too much hair gel on pretending to be Vegeta.....

The only way it WOULD be DBZ is if there was Vegeta. Can't have a Goku without a Vegeta.
(Did you know Saiyajin *Japanese word for saiyan* means Vegetable, so each saiyan character had a name that had to do with food? Vegeta=Vegetable, Kakarot=Carrot)

There are actually very different levels of canon in Star Wars
George Lucas considers only what is in his movies to be actual canon
everything else he considers a kind of 'parallel universe' (books, comics, games, etc)

I thought he considered Boba surviving the Sarlacc to be Canon.

Asian people aren't getting taller as a whole! And some families are getting shorter.

And you leave out the possiblity of disaster! What if a flood like the one in the Bible happened? Wouldn't all the fossils be scattered all over the place? If there was such a flood, what would we find??? "Billions of dead things, buried in rock layers. All over the earth." And what do we find??? "Billions of dead things, buried in rock layers. All over the earth." Sediment would have settled into rock layers, so having that, wouldn't prove evolution.

That's a good point...that would explain alot. Since they find fossils where there once was ocean, wouldn't a world-wide flood come to mind? And wouldn't world-wide floods mean the world being covered by ocean? Also, people say that aqautic creatures came first. Those and creatures of the air were created first according to the Bible. Even though the Bible has been re-written many times, the parts that were re-written were mostly the same thing, and most of the Bible is still what it once was.
But I'm beginning to find this argument...unhealthy. We aren't just stating our views, we're trying to force them onto others... tongue
