I know they're going to release several wpuld-be Season 6 Episodes as TV movies or DVDs or something, so we may see it there. If not, there's always this long-awaited live-action TV show and more movies to come.

I've been thinking and reading up a lot lately, and have found that Star Wars is very much a right-wing conservative saga. I think Star Wars isn't very political in its agenda, but still the values and style illustrate this idea, as these articles show:

http://www.carolinajournal.com/daily_jo … tml?id=255
http://www.asylum.com/2010/01/04/5-reas … ropoganda/

A few more points to note: In a deleted scene from the original film, Biggs Darklighter describes how the Empire is nationalising commerce and soon, people will find they work to serve the greater Empire(a.k.a. the Empire is Communist, taking away people's economic freedom and initiative for the collective). In the novelisation to the original film, an Imperial Officer(one of the ones in the 'board room' scene) refers to the Rebels as reactionaries(a wood for extreme conservative uterly determined to reverse any left-wing change).

Then of course, there's this:
But I wouldn't read too much into that. It's just imagery, and after all, the Imperial Officers uniforms resembled the SS, and of course, 'Stormtroopers'.

So have a read of these articles. They all seem very astute and indicate the very right-wing values of Star Wars.

I would agree with those who selected his embraressing death from Return of the Jedi. The comic scream and pathetic flailing reakky insult the great stature and menace developed in The Empire Strikes Back. There is also the fact that Han manages to bring down the galaxy's top assassin by accident.

Are you aware that the blu-ray release actually used an alternate, slightly less farcical cut of Han knocking Boba's Jet?

As for my favourite: I like the shot of Boba standing outside Slave I ordering his men to

I think that Ralph Fiennes would be great as Saul Karath. He looks the part and his style resembles very much what Saul is about. The only problem would be his height.

I am the highest rank. I used to play a lot.

Macabre means gruesome, horrible, pertaining to death.

I don't think it is macabre, just silly in a fun way.

Where did you acquire that image and hear this news?

So much happenning at the moment. Australia has been working to help the earthquake appeal in New Zealand, the attacks on Libya and Japan.

Does anyone here have an opinion and a preferred leader?

If you know about the election.

Is anyone here familiar with the recent Federal election here in Australia only 3 weeks ago? And what an amazing election it was.

Olle Wasy

Yeah, that's me fellas.

I am still here.

Very good indeed.

The E3 expo has begun and a new trailer for The Old Republic was released.

Good trailer, but too much action for me I must admit, and the armour is too similar to the Clone Trooper armour. The trailer ended very well.

A holorecord regarding the Jedi Civil War/events of KOTOR I was also released recently.

Oh, and I'm back.

I liked R2 Come Home, but Lethal trackdown was very dissapointing.

They destroyed Slave I?!?!? so I quess the one in countless EU works and ESB is a rebuild. I did not like that at all.

I liked it more than I thought I would.

It did seem a little unrealistic to have a kid single-handedly destroy a Republic Cruiser though

They have promised to retcon all this and work it out so both stories fit the canon.

I believe that Return of the Jedi was the perfect end for the film saga and any films set after would detract. The story was perfectly finished in a brilliant way and Return of the Jedi shoulkd remain the last Star Wars Episode in terms of Star Wars internal timeline.

And I don't think that any film, Star Wars or not is ever going to reach the epic, climactic sense of Return of the Jedi.

I am however fully welcoming of films set before the Phantom Menace, or spin off's during Clone Wars or Episode IV-VI.

I would very much like to see the old Clone Wars miniseries made into a full film, Maybe get Pixar to make it the same way as the old series. If you watch the 2 DVD volumes togther you actually get quite a strong cinematic experience with some great character, drama and story that perfectly shows us what the Clone Wars were like.

I think the 2008 Clone Wars film didn't really give that much of a sense of what the war was. The story and character drama was too small and there was very little epic sense to it. The old series had ENOURMOUS battles that would look brilliantly in Pixar animation.

The way I see it, the two old Clone Wars series's were the big stories of the war wheras 2008 film and subsequent TV sow were hyst the little stories that went on in the background.

So that's my take. Return of the Jedi was the perfect ending to six film saga, but I would be perfectly welcoming to any spin-off or film set before Return.

No question about it.

Knights of the Old Republic(first one) IS the best Star Wars game ever made.

In my opinion big_smile

To update my list:

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Revenge of the Sith
3. Return of the Jedi
4. A New Hope
5. Attack of the Clones
6. The Phantom Menace

Wit a little retconning it will all work out.

Personally I think that the Clone Wars Mandalore trilogy should be de-canonized but since that won't happen, just do a little bit of retcon on little issues and it will fix all.

I am going to see it soon,

My opinions on Mandalore Plot and Voyage....

Mandalore Plot was way too underusing it's idea. They should have had more dialogue about the Mandalorians and Obi-Wan and the Duchess. Still a fun Epiosde with many great settings and locations.

Voyage of Temptation was an improvement delivering some interesting Dialogue between Obi and Duchess and featuring a great character moment for Anakin.

Personally I don't mind that Mandalorians are now alive. The general opinion of the galaxy and most is that the Mandalorians are still extinct so it does make a little sense.

I watched the first half, don't ask why, the seond half cut out.

To be honest I enjoyed what I saw. I will have a better review once I have seen it.
