It has to be a fanfic (or at least made up by a fan as a cool story starter) because it has been stated that the hair is in fact a strand of braided wookie hair.

The only time I heard of Boba getting with anyone was with the other bounty hunter, Mirta. Or Sintas? I don't know one of them.

The story of Boba falling in love with some random Corellian is kind of strange (putting it lightly) in my opinion.  It (as I've said many times) ruins the aura of mystery around him.  Personally, I don't like the story as much, but that's just me.
