This returns to how Star Wars was first adapted in 1977, until Dark Horse Comics took over the tired series with a re-boot in the late 90&#8217;s, where we saw an edgier but equally creative\/explorative expanded universe.<\/p>\n<p>In part 1 of 2 posts, we look back at how Boba Fett was portrayed in these vintage Marvel Comics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_42\/\">Star Wars #42<\/a> (1980) introduced Boba Fett in a straight adaptation of &#8220;Empire&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_68\/\">Star Wars #68<\/a> (1983) had the first reference to the Mandalorians, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Tobbi_Dala\">Tobbi Dala<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Fenn_Shysa\">Fenn Shysha<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_69\/\">Star Wars #69<\/a> continues the storyline with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Tobbi_Dala\">Tobbi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Fenn_Shysa\">Fenn<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_81\/\">Star Wars #81<\/a> &#8220;Jawas of Doom&#8221; (1984) deviated from the movie adaption and had Jawas outside the Sarlacc rescue Boba Fett, who in this issue has temporary amnesia<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_99\/\">Star Wars #99<\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Fenn_Shysa\">Fenn Shysa<\/a> joins forces with the Rebels<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_100\/\">Star Wars #100<\/a> &#8220;First Strike&#8221; (1985) includes Princess Leia talking with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Fenn_Shysa\">Fenn Shysa<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_101\/\">Star Wars #101<\/a> (1985) continues the storyline<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/sw_107\/\">Star Wars #107<\/a> &#8220;All Together Now&#8221; (1986) includes Han Solo, Princess Leia, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/fettpedia\/Fenn_Shysa\">Fenn Shysa<\/a> among others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By comparison, Dark Horse Comics released many, many more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobafettfanclub.com\/bounty\/books\/comics\/\">Boba Fett comics<\/a>.
