The officially licensed Herschel x Star Wars Spring 2021 Collection<\/a> is now available, featuring three helmet nods to the original Star Wars trilogy.<\/p>\n

Within the line are four Boba Fett-inspired bags: Dawson XL backpack<\/a> ($109.99), Dawson Small backpack<\/a> ($89.99), Classic XL backpack<\/a> ($79.99), and Form Large crossbody<\/a> ($49.99). Inspired by his armor, each has some distinctive utility: the XL sports a 13″ laptop sleeve, the Small has a sleeve with zipper side access, the Classic has zippered closures with Prusik cord pulls, and the Form has a removable crossbody strap. You can also see the Dawson bags have a stowable rain cover with Boba Fett’s Mandalorian crest. You can also spot his shoulder armor symbol on a few exterior tags.<\/p>\n

This “Dark Side” collection also includes bags inspired by Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. Each item in the series has character-inspired lining, woven interior Star Wars and Herschel Supply logo labels, and also an exterior label.<\/p>\n

You can order them now on their Herschel website<\/a> (which ships internationally) as well as in Herschel stores and more than 10,000 stockists worldwide spanning 94 countries. The Canadian company founded in 2009 is “a design-driven global travel lifestyle brand producing timeless products with utility design for the modern traveller.”<\/p>\n

StarWars.com Interview<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview<\/a> that dropped right before our original date of publication for this article, StarWars.com Associate Editor Kristin Baver spoke with Jon Warren,VP of product design at Herschel Supply Co.:<\/p>\n

StarWars.com: And then there\u2019s Boba Fett! I love the abstract print using some of the colors that we associate with Fett\u2019s armor. It\u2019s very much an \u201cif you know, you know\u201d kind of piece at first glance that I could see would blend seamlessly into someone\u2019s existing wardrobe. How did you land on this more abstract print for this part of the collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jon Warren:<\/strong> As a kid, Boba Fett was the coolest character in The Empire Strikes Back. My friends and I thought he was such a bad ass. His armor is so cool and as an old skateboarder that would frequently shop at army surplus stores, a custom camouflage print for his bags felt natural.<\/p>\n

The camo was inspired by Boba Fett\u2019s dinged up helmet. It reminded me of some vintage splinter cell camo I have. I wanted to do something military, but also unique to Herschel and Star Wars. I love all of the styles in the collection, but the Dawson backpacks are my favorite. We created external pockets to mimic Boba Fett\u2019s cargo pockets — a special design detail exclusive to these bags.<\/p>\n

Another, darker, feature on the Boba Fett bags is the braided zipper pull you see throughout the collection. It\u2019s a nod to the braids he has hanging off of his right shoulder in the film.<\/p>\n

Like Darth Vader, Boba Fett also wears a cape and has a similar rain cover stashed away at the bottom of his Dawson backpacks and Classic XL backpack. His features the Mandalorian Crest instead of the Imperial Crest seen on Vader\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Boba Fett\u2019s internal quote label says, “AS YOU WISH.” The interior liner print is a graphic play on his helmet and visor. The mustard yellow colorway is a reference to his knee and shoulder armor.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
