My prize....the exact model of shoulder gas mask bag that Indy uses. Go to Indygear.com for reference, theres no denying it. It was made in 1942 and everything. The guy who sold it to me put the leather strap on it and also kept the web strap just for the hell of it.

Yeah I'm getting on it. I got fully dressed for the premier but the only pic I have of that day is from a camera phone, so its not so good. So i'm gonna do it again soon.

Re: My Indy Collection

That's cool.  I was looking at some of those at Wal-Mart the other day, and noticed that they're also coming out with a figure of the Knight from "The Last Crusade" along with some other neat ones from that movie, finally.   Very nice.

Yeah I saw those on the Hasbro site, but i think they come out in Sept. or something. For now, I have all the figures that have come out. I got some new ones thats I haven't taken pictures of yet, and I also DONT have the jeep or jungle cutter vehicles, but ill get them soon.

And yeah, that Grail Knight figure is very, very cool.

Re: My Indy Collection

Somehow found 4 Last Crusade figures at 2 different Walmarts. I didnt think they would come out this early. There was only ONE of each, idk how I got so lucky. No Henry Jones Sr. or Grail Knight yet tho...those are very cool.

That Colonel Vogel figure has to be one of my favorites. Really detailed and he looks so cool.

Heres the Young Indy I found at the first Walmart I went to. The other three figures I found at another. This one isnt a bad figure either.

That's far enough! Put down the
gun, Doctor Jones. Put down the
gun or the Fraulein dies!

Re: My Indy Collection

of course, if Dr. Jones doesn't put ze gun down, the clones behind Colonel Vogel, along with the McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper will high-tail it after Indy.

I didn't know they'd made a young Indy (River Pheonix) figure... "Everyone's lost but me" tongue

Re: My Indy Collection

LOL, indeed. Its a good figure, its a great representation of him and the cross of coronado in his belt is super cool.

Behold...

http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg39/pgoicouria/Picture.jpg

New bull whip. Functioning prop replica made out of fine leathers. It looks black here for some reason, but its actually just brown. Works amazingly. When i crack it, puffs of smoke come from the tip and the crack echoes through my neighborhood. Best xmas ever.

Re: My Indy Collection

Here is my 10 foot, 12 plait kangaroo hide, hand braided David Morgan Series No. 455 bullwhip. David Morgan produced over 30 whips for the production of all the films. I have the whole set of Indy gear by the original makers but this is the most expensive piece in the collection. If you wanted to buy one now it would put you back about $1000.(U.S.)!

And here is my 100% genuine Herbert Johnson "poet" model fedora. (You can learn a lot more about this piece at http://www.indygear.com/igfedora.html) The most important thing here is that there are a  lot of expensive but poorly manufactured hats out there that claim to be THE hat. A dead give away is the cheesy teardrop crown on the replicas and that is usually copied on the figures. This piece will put you back about $300.(U.S.)

Finally,

The man...a little sketch I did of Dr. Jones at work.

I had a great shot of the Alden 405  boots but I can't seem to find it right now. I will get it up later. They are great boots and super comfortable. A good deal at $344. (U.S.)

Re: My Indy Collection

Idk how you came across Alden 405s, at $344 thats ok, but ive found cheaper. Still too expensive tho, but theyre so rare.

The Herbert Johnson Poet is really nice, but i think im going to get one from the AdventureBilt people. They seem to the best at screen accuracy. http://adventurebilt.com/

Also, since the 10ft David Morgan is over $1000 i got my $200 one instead. It works perfectly, and i thought I'd practice with this one and really get the hang of it before i splurge for the David Morgan one. I'm going to be needing new poppers from his site soon, i may get some leather cream or w/e its called too.

Re: My Indy Collection

Here's my boots. These boots have stomped on the desert sands of Yemen, the icy fjords of Norway, the steamy jungles of Thailand, the rocky shores of southern China and now, sadly, they pound the concrete at the Gap I work at here in Tokyo.

I make a separate post because these boots are just that great. I have had these now for over nine years and despite a few polishes along the way, that's why the color has changed and also why the still look as good as they do, these boots are still one of the most comfortable pair of footwear I own.  All of the gear used for the original films was top shelf quality but these boots just rock.

Re: My Indy Collection

And this is the Holy Grail of collecting as far as I am concerned...

the Japanese manufactured Toys McCoy Indy Action figure. This thing is F-ing amazing. Except for the hat everything is made from actual material, leather jacket, belts, whip, metal gun, cotton shirt, trousers etc. This thing is so cool. I paid around $300. (U.S.) for it and I was happy to spend every penny. Totally cool!

To learn more about this fantastic figure please see

http://www.toys-mccoy.com/figure/indiana/indiana1.htm

P.S. they only made 3000 of these so if you don't have one the only place to pick it up is the secondary market. The website is in Japanese so if you have any questions let me know. This thing makes the Hasbro version look like a piece of crap!

Re: My Indy Collection

I have all the Indy lego sets, and all the Hasbro figures before they cancelled them. I am looking for a nice vintage or replica Webley revolver to go with my Indy gear.
